With the way Dallas draft they'll get another stud in the 2nd round and Bourque will become Newhook Rev 2

I don't know why Utah would care why the Senators would want their pick back; I'd imagine they'd do that trade regardless.

Utah had some excellent metrics this season despite suffering quite a bit of injuries and just barely missed the playoffs, and after winning the draft lottery securing another top 5 pick and the development and possibly graduation of prospects, they could legit make the playoffs. Messing with Dallas and/or Colorado's roster could prove very beneficial, especially since both of those team are in cap crunch.

He's getting buried. Bourque is a good player and lit up the AHL last year. Stars are logjammed in the top 6 specifically so he gets like 12min a night and very limited PP.

He did better the 2nd half of the season, but he was with Johnston a lot, He's ok, not worth 4m.
I'd bet they'd match a long term 4m contract for him.

NYR might not match 6.8M on Cuylle. Compensation is 1st and 3rd

I think the Rangers still match. Cuylle is a player every team would love to have. He hits a ton and scores a reasonable amount.

NYRangers will have to OVERPAY like crazy to get Kreider out of there and he still has a 15team NTC on top of that. They end up losing either way. f*** with them if you're an Eastern Team. They can't trade Zibanejad he has a full NMC. They are kind of f***ed tbh.

Dallas I bet they trade Marchment away and match. They still need to fill lots of holes, Granlund gone, Duchene Gone, Dadonov, Ceci. There's a temptation to just let Bourque walk at 4.6M for sure.
