Michkov has mostly played with Konečný and Couturier so let's not pretend like the same doesn't apply to him in that regard. Five-on-five he has been on ice for 1.8 goals for and 2.6 goals against /60 while Stankoven has 3.7 goals for and 1.8 goals against likewise. It's a rather different experience watching the two.

Players are also on the ice with defensemen. You can’t just cite those numbers and leave out that Michkov plays for a terrible team and Stankoven a great team. Coututier isn’t even that good anymore. Pretty sure the Stars top three centers are all better than him.

And mostly isn’t the same as being stapled there. Pretty sure after like 11 or so games they took Michkov off that line and he hasn’t returned since.

Maybe there’s just playing defense first goalie friendly system. Even Vladar has a respectable 906 sv %

Huge gap in .906 (slightly above league avg I believe)

And .926 (would win the vezina if he plays 50 or more games and keeps that up+flames playoffs)

Flames are a pretty garbage team on paper. 25 pts in 20 games is exceeding expectations
