Only two for me. Dexy's and Greenbaum. Sinead had more hits than just that Prince song. It was her biggest hit but not her only one. Sorry, Bogart, but Blind Melon did too. "Galaxy" was a hit for them and I loved it. Couldn't stand "No Rain" though.

@Chairman Maouth It's okay, CM, you gotta be CM. I still pray for you to break Jan Wenner's mind control programming and realize the Beatles are not the best 60s band & Bob Dylan is not one of the two best 70s artists. ;)

Sinéad O'Connor. She did have other good songs [collabed with Daltry,Gabriel and others ], but "Nothing" was her big hit . It's sorta like Kate Bush, lots of good songs, but many only remember Running up that Hill. The song was top 30 in 85', reached #3 almost 40 years later, thanks to Stranger Things. She cleaned up on royalties thanks to that tv series which is pretty cool.

Dude, the Beatles were not only the best '60s band. They are the greatest band of all time. They drove and heavily influenced culture. They helped bring about the fall of the Iron Curtain.

Wanna throw down? Wanna fight? :naughty:

My favorite one-hit wonder is probably Jack Wagner "All I Need" from 1984 or "Eve Of Destruction" by Barry McGuire in 1965.

"Spirit In The Sky" by Norman Greenbaum is kind of interesting as it was covered by The Doctor And The Medics in 1986 and was their only hit, too. So the song served as a one-hit wonder for two artists.

Is "Closing Time" by Semisonic considered a 1HW?

My Best-Carey

A bunch of Kate Bush’s singles and albums charted in the top 5 all over the UK and Europe during her heyday though

How about David Soul from Starsky and Hutch . He had a no 1 song called "Don't give up on us"
