First team
Forwards: Kovalchuk, Wheeler, Scheifele
Defense: Buff, Morrisey
Goalie: Hellebuyck

Second team
Forwards: Laine, Connor, Hossa maybe?
Defense: Trouba, Enstrom
Goalie: Lehtonen
For me, Laine wasn't here long enough, asked to be moved, and hasn't done much since gone. So I would not have him on the second team myself.

I agree with your first team. Second team is a bit harder, but think I'd go with:

Forwards: Connor, Little, Ladd
Defence: Enstrom, DeMelo
Goalie: Broissoit (backup but he's better than any of the other options)

I was shocked to learn that Pionk has scored the third most points of any Jets Dman behind only Byfuglien and Morrisey. Interesting for a guy who's hated on so relentlessly. If we just went by points, he should be on the Second team.

Yeah the criteria aren't really clear - the definitive and best players for each franchise.

I'd argue that Laine was a pretty big part of the 2017-18 peak, and his rookie season was like nothing we'd seen since Selanne back in 1992-93. Fun fact: Selanne played fewer games for Winnipeg than Laine did...and if we were doing a similar exercise for Jets 1.0, no one would think of leaving Selanne off the roster.

Little's chronically underrated but I don't know if I'd put him on the list. Hossa was only with the franchise for 3 years but he was pretty instrumental in getting them to their first playoff finish by putting up a 100 point season (the last time any Jet/Thrasher player had a 100 point season).

We got Peak Ladd for his time here, but he never led the team to much success. Arguably the best thing Ladd did for the franchise was refuse to sign here long term in 2015.

As much as I like DeMelo, he's not making my list...Trouba was probably worth his deal at the time he signed it with the Rangers (and I bet Chevy would've gladly signed him for that if Trouba had wanted to play here).

Brossoit would definitely at the top of my list of best backup goalies in franchise history, but he's still a backup. Lehtonen was a good goalie and solid starter...

I think Hossa might be on Chicago's list, maybe...

Only others in consideration are maybe Kozlov, and I'm wondering if Lowry is in the conversation too...thoughts?

From a defense pov, how about Stuart? Probably not...

If we're only talking the Winnipeg jets, thenbi thimk its got to be the line that got some hate at the end, and it's actually pretty east to name a first team
Connor
Scheifele
Wheeler
Morrisey
Byfuglien
Hellebuyck

Second team

Laine
Little
Ehlers
Enstrom
?Trouba?
Brossoit probably

Four all star appearances and a Stanley Cup (albeit not with Winnipeg) in which he played a key role do not = disaster. We all remember some of his memorable gaffes, but that is not the big picture. He is solidly on the list.
If people think Buff was a disaster, Pionk in front of Pavelec would have been Armageddon.

I won't participate in this filth.

Any Jets discussion that involves somebody who never wore the f***ing shirt? Is by definition BULLSHIT.

Especially after the now defunct coyotes have made it abundantly apparent that there is not and has never been a need to tie the "franchise" to the team.

Our players are Jets 1.0 and Jets 2.0 period. Kovalchuk can rot for all I care.

Not sure time should be a factor (within reason). Laine put in nearly an extra seasons worth of games with the Jets vs Selanne and his jersey is hung in the ring of honour, or whatever we call it.

Also like Selanne, Laine generated a ton of excitement.

This is one of the great moments in Jets 2.0 History:

Oh yeah.

That game alone gets him on the team.

But he also had one of the great debut and sophomore goal-scoring seasons of our time with 36 and then 44 goals, and helped drive one of the most exciting and memorable (if brief) contention windows we got to see. Hell yeah he's on the team, even if he has to bring his X-Box console.

That is so surprising to me that Selanne spent such a short time in Winnipeg -- real Mandela effect there because I think most people would also say Selanne spent longer than Laine here, whereas it feels like Laine was here for a cup of coffee then gone. Weird.

Given that Laine was here that long, and his time here was indeed magical, you and @Gm0ney have convinced me ... Laine should be on the quarter century second team if not the first.

I don’t think laine beats out Connor when you look at their respective careers.

I think both Selanne and Laine brought the "magic" with them. Selanne an absolute legendary rookie season, and Laine that legendary shot and personality (that seems to have been sapped from him since then, unfortunately).

I don't know the Thrashers well enough to include them but for the Jets:

Connor-Scheifele-Wheeler
Morrissey-Byfuglien
Hellebuyck

Ladd-Little-Ehlers
Enstrom-Trouba
Pavelec? (feels weird picking a backup)
