My best friend moved to Edmonton when we were kids, so I've always had a soft spot for their team. Rooting for the Oilers for the second year in a row.
Never had any hard feelings against Vancouver. Along with Buffalo, they have the longest streak of never winning a Cup. I'd be cool with them finally winning one.
Ambivalent towards Calgary and Winnipeg. A pang of sympathy for Hellebuyck, but can't stand Scheifele, which adds up to indifference.
Up until recently, I tolerated Ottawa slightly more than Toronto. However, Sens fans seem to have gotten more obnoxious while Leafs fans have become more fatalistic, almost humble. Year after year of failure has stomped most of the arrogance out of their system. At this point, I can actually stand the Leafs fans on this board more than I can some of Ottawa's screechy, witless fans. I found myself rooting for Toronto to beat Ottawa, just to shut their fans up.
After last night, another piece of Toronto's soul has been ripped from them. I don't enjoy kicking someone when they're down, and will happily leave Leafs fans alone to lick their wounds. Ottawa, on the other hand, seems to have inherited Toronto's entitlement, only without the talent or regular season success.
