People are emboldened by their team winning, and annoying people are more annoying when emboldened.

Tough call, they all have a terrible segment of posters when they are losing and each one has their own particular M.O.

Canadians: It's our game, if only we had all our best players here, we're the best always and forever................bow at our feet.

U.S: we don't take this game seriously and if we did we would rule the world in this as in everything else, consider yourself lucky you peons.

Finland: Count your blessings we are so small or none of you would have a chance, over the top winter war references, prospect thread invasions on a level the likes you have never seen when a player is perceived to be in competition with one of their own.

Russia: we lost therefore you must have cheated somehow, the whole world is against us, the evil western world is out to destroy Russian hockey and eradicate it from the roots up.

Sweden: The refs are killing us, especially those Canadian ones, why are we always getting ripped off? Those Canadians, those god damned Canadians, they are always looking to hurt our players.

Czechs are Slovaks are usually quite fine around here but then they don't have much to cheer about or be disappointed about these days, expectations are very low. But don't let that fool you, if they were still very good they would be a pain in the ass too and I can attest to this from experiencing them in their halcyon days on the old IIHF chat boards during the world championships before they were unceremoniously shut down due to all the foolishness.

This started so nice.. I love the Czech and Slovak posters. They generally agree with one another and with the other nations. Not many guys stirring the pot at all!

Cheers mate. I generally struck into reasonable comments by the Finns but there are some really annoying Finnish posters here, not including me of course. Same goas with everyo country, but let the majority decide.

And Eye of Ra voted for Sweden of course.

I would say across all genres and sports, whoever has the most fans tend to be the most annoying. Tons of Canada fans on here, no surprise there are tons of annoying ones. Tons of great ones that are open to good discussion, but, volume brings all types.

The Canadian contingent is always beyond awesome at the World Championships, but insufferable and loathsome at the World Juniors.
Top to bottom probably the Finns are most annoying. Czechs are the best.

I can definitely see this. I think it has to do with the fact that Canada is our kryptonite. It feels like if we're up 3-2 with one minute left, the most likely result is always a 4-3 win for Canada. Even when we have a better team than Russia, Finland and the US, I would bet on any of them beating Canada over us doing it.

Do you mean right now, that a lot of us haven’t noticed it yet but in a few years when Josi is closing in on retirement, we’ll see Switzerland fighting to keep its spot at the Olympics and World Championships while Norwegian and Austrian stars are winning individual NHL trophies and national team medals?

Because it seems to me it’s pretty clear Switzerland’s a notch above Norway and Austria. Over the last decade plus, they might have had the better teams on a good day, with Norway having a fine if unspectacular generation (which unfortunately still is largely expected to lead them) and Austria a few nice weapons in Vanek, Raffl and Grabner. But Switzerland has generally been deeper on every position, and with two WHC silver medals in recent years, I don’t quite see how Austria or Norway can compare.

Also, is that why you voted Sweden, you meant to vote for Switzerland?

Finns are if we do well, we disappear quite quickly if we lose.
