Which Canadian Team Will Go the Farthest?

Jets are going to crash and burn come playoffs just like they do every year.

Hellebuyck has been with you guys since 2018 and all he ever does is lose and disappoint in the playoffs. Since 2018 the Jets have by far the worst win/loss record in playoffs among Canadian teams. 18 wins 27 losses. .400 win percentage. Even Leafs are better.

Since 2018 - Jets in playoffs allows an average of 3.18 goals per game, among the worst in leage. Habs are #1 by a long shot in this metric in the NHL.

And if you don't like me looking at 2018 because it's too far back:

Since 2020 (Hellebuyck's first Vezina):

Jets are 25th among 27 total NHL teams for win percentage in playoffs (Habs are 6th)

Since 2023 (Hellebuyck's last 2 years where he's closer to "peak" form):

Jets are 18th among 19 total NHL teams for win percentage in playoffs.

Conclusion? Jets are a paper champion who are going to choke and lose in round 1 this year, just like they always do. And everyone will laugh, because it'll be hilarious.
Show me on a doll where the Jets hurt you…….

I think Toronto is going to surprise people. There's always a chance they stick to the script and lose in round 1 to Ottawa in dramatic fashion. But I think the team finally has good support, the best defense group this core has ever had, and 2 goalies who are capable of great games.

After that Winnipeg is my guess. Hellebuyck is going to be a big difference maker. I think he'll get them to the conference final, minimum.

Leafs in the Cup Final vs the Avs. Avs win the Cup. So Leafs go further than any other Canadian club.

I don't know who will go the farthest but I know who will go out the quickest. It'll be Ottawa. Expect them to get swept by whomever they play.

What year did we do this again? There was a year where all sens fans went around talking about how bad we were during a playoff run.

"Expect the sens to lose again" when they're leading a series lol stuff like that.

Ottawa wouldn't surprise me and Im rooting for them this year

But i can definitely see Toronto making it to the SCF, but losing out to the Knights or Edmonton or Dallas (wow an edmonton vs leafs final would be amazing....Bettman will hate it but f*** him)
Tavares is having himself a good year and that's a good sign for that team. They have a better defense finally, if Carlo can stay out of bell rung territory they're in business

Looking forward to seeing Brady Tkachuk in the playoffs, after seeing him at 4 Nations.

Is he going to have another useless fight and then do nothing?

Similar to quoting yours of, this is the year, the leafs win the cup, every year.

I always think the Leafs can win every year because they have the pieces. This year is different though, the team is objectively different.

Edmonton is good, but hard to flip a switch after playing like dog shit for a month.
You mean like they did last year when they were 4-6 in April and had a healthy McDavid, Draisaitl, Nugent-Hopkins, Kane, Ekholm and Skinner?

So far they're 3-2 in April this year btw

too early to say as its dependent on matchups

leafs have a shot vs the senators but are going to get bounced by the panthers
sens have a shot v the leafs but will most likely get bounced by tampa
montreal in theory should get bounced by washington, but demidov adds intrigue and washingtons goaltending has been awful since january 27, 2025

winnipeg should win their matchup either way but im sure life would be easier if its the wild instead of the blues
oilers v kings is a tossup

if the question is based off today then i would say winnipeg, that could change in a week

I honestly think the oilers easily win the cup

I want to see the team that can get by the Blues in the West. They're legit scary.

Washington is a big, consistent team that will puff up for the playoffs and demolish Montreal, this is my guess for the first sweep.

I guess you haven't followed much Habs hockey this year. The Caps may indeed take the series but MTL has no quit and I'd be surprised if it didn't go to 7 games.

This is Toronto's year. They always wait until they have no choice but to do what is needed.

Isn't Matthews banged up? That's the problem in having most of your Cap split between a handful of players. If one guy goes down it's a huge strain on the rest of the club.
