Which Canadian Team Will Go the Farthest?

Those people don’t exist on HF.

Only casual fans say stuff like that.

Well-adjusted, normal people with productive lives who regard hockey as entertainment to follow now and then and know enough to say “How about that game last night?” at the water cooler.

A true HFer only wants their own Canadian team to break the drought.

which is a perfectly fine opinion i can respect

adding to this.... has anyone else seen this commercial that sportsnet is running...

setting is a police interrogation asking questions about their whereabouts, etc for the last 30 odd years to an off screen character. eventually the person is revealed and surprise! the cup is 'sitting' in a chair.

it's brutal

At least it wasn't Clint Eastwood talking to an empty chair.

Im talking about the new definition of generational talent established by the NHL since Bedard. Hes at least 2-3 x better

And to be fair, Demidov could be as good or better than Kucherov which i personally consider a gnerational talent at the same level as McNuggets

in mtl they consider Demidov to be the best prospect since Guy Lafleur who’s undeniably been considered a legit generational talent.

Demidov is going to have a 100pts+ season, next year.

This is not a hyperbole.
Well that would be your definition of generational, but not many others.
Let him become a franchise level player first, before the hyperbole.

People's continued insistence that the Jets choke in the playoffs as opposed to simply not having had many good teams since 2018 is really weird, and I'm not sure what it's based on. Since their 2018 run, they've played two teams they finished the regular season with more points than (lower p% than their play-in opponents in 2020). Those teams were 3 points and 4 points behind the Jets in the standings.

The Jets have been a fairly bad team since 2018, and have indeed lost in the playoffs, as bad teams tend to do. If they finish first in the central, this will mark the first time since 2018 they will be clear favorites in a playoff round based on the regular season results, rather than vibes.

I think its partially because Colorado and Vegas have pummelled them the last two playoffs in virtually all facets on the game. They really haven’t shown that they can raise their level once the playoffs start. I think they have put themselves in a great position if they hold onto first this year. I think they can get past the first round and maybe they can build some momentum. Its going to be a tough second round match up though.

What? Generational talent? Who?

Talk about hyperbole wow
This guy is notorious for calling Mesar (and others) generational and arguing with people about it on the Habs board lmao. Know who you’re dealing with before you waste your time getting into an argument with him 😂

As a Leafs fan, I have to begrudgingly admit Montreal is the most interesting team, though also the biggest underdog.

Everyone is expecting the Leafs to crash and burn as usual, expectations seem to be lower for Edmonton this year, Winnipeg has its own Leafs-complex of playoff mediocrity to overcome, and Ottawa, I don’t know, does anyone think they’re a dark horse, or just a happy-to-be-there team?

I’m not feeling particularly glowing over any of their chances at a cup, but I also wouldn’t be shocked to see Edmonton or Winnipeg in the finals.
As much as I hate the Leafs I have to admit they play differently this year, they really upgraded the defence and as nobody expect them to go far I think it could finally be the year they go to at least top 4. People forget but last year Matthews was sick and Woll got injured, without that I think they win the 1st round at least. As a Habs fan, honestly just to live 2 playoffs game at home minimum will be huge for the young team core, experience can't be buy, the city is going crazy right now and it's not even started. I like being the underdog and I think they could upset WSH but we'll see. The Oilers are injured and the Kings really has a chip on their shoulders. Winnipeg it's a coin toss for me honestly, they have a good balance team but like the Leafs they often choke comes playoffs. Ottawa has a team built for the playoffs and they have a true #1 with Ullmark, if they play Toronto it's gonna be the serie to watch IMO.

TOR
WPG
EDM
OTT

But Vegas was the 1st seed in the Western Conference, added LTIR Stone to their lineup in the playoffs, and played the 2nd Wild Card team, the Jets, who finished with 95 points and had gained like 40 of those points since Christmas. The Golden Knights proceeded to pummel EVERY opponent. The average save percentage for their opponents was like .860. Of course they beat the Jets. They were the vastly superior team.

I'm curious -- were you (Sens fans) serious at any point (past maybe the first 30 minutes of the announcement of the signing)?

Most Sens fans of a certain age will remember Stone and Silfverberg coming in to play against the Rangers without having played a regular season game.

So I think that they are mostly just yanking your chain.

You just got called out in the mtl boards for your Charles Hudon being undeniably better than Mesar, you may want to circle back and re-asses your arguments.

With a name like Garbageyuk... there's no way you're a habs fan. You sound like a hater to be honest.

Called out by who?
You and your three other accounts?
