Which Canadian team left is most likely to win the Stanley Cup

Oilers
Leafs
Jets

Oilers have a better roster than Toronto everywhere but in goal.
I’d take torontos defence and goaltending I think offence is pretty even accept that Edmonton has McDavid and Draisaitl. Which always goes off come playoff time. But by chance Matthews and marner go off it would be quite the series.

You guys better get ready for the most hated hfboards teams final: Lefs-Oilers.
Oh. Man... I don't know if the internet can take it. As an Oiler fan, I might just need to hope that we lose in the conference final just to save the world from the mood swings. When the leafs win a game, all we'll hear is how McDavid wants to be traded to the leafs so he can win a cup. If the Oilers win, we'll hear about Marner in reverse. This would be the most toxic final in the history of the sport.

Toronto

Plus this is the first time Marner looks to be taking the playoffs seriously

UFA, July 1st. Maybe he wants to get out of Toronto and play with his boy Connor in Edmonton. They Enjoyed playing together.....their wives had "pilates & coffee" date.

@Coffee .... is this how we stir the shit? :P

More likely they both play in Toronto, both hometown kids who grew up dreaming about playing for the Maple Leafs + we got big money coming off the books in time for 2026. Marner's been playing this way all year, if you go look at our Marner thread on our board from the start of the year, you'll myself and several other posters discussing how he's playing differently this year. Getting in the dirty areas and not shying from contact.

As much as I’d be bummed by my team falling out...

Oilers vs Leafs would be a freaking insane matchup, for many reasons.

HF would need many more hamsters running on much bigger wheels.
I hope they are planning for the possibility

I dunno....I think getting carjacked and then the charges being withdrawn in September spurred him to put himself in the best position to gtfo ;)

Oh joking and ribbing aside, I honestly don't think either team gets to poach each other here....

I hope this ridiculous Canadian cup drought will end and have a Toronto vs Winnipeg/Edmonton final. Pretty confident at this point Toronto makes the final.

I need to see a team be able to stop Edmonton's forward group, which is better right now then the one that made it to game 7 last season. I don't think there are any teams capable of playing much better defensively then either LA or Vegas so good luck to any team that faces the Oilers. I also think Pickard is more consistent and reliable then Skinner in net. If they get Ekholm back, they are going darn tough to beat 4 times in 7 games, but it's only the 2nd round so none of the Canadian teams have won squat yet.

here to eat some crow and say that the Blackhawks will also be picking the last pick of the first round unfortunately.

When the last time a team with a heavy top 6 but backup goaltending and AHL defense won a cup? even gretzky couldnt will that to a cup

Everything can happen. Would like Edmonton \ Jets in west conference final. And from there I just really don't know. Will all depend on Hellebuyck.

In the East, while I dislike the Leafs, they are currently IMO the team that will come out of the east.

Now my answer: Sadly (cause I dislike them) and because they don't meet Boston this year :), It might be / looks like to be the Leafs year.

So Leafs for me.

Looking at all the teams' play, no one seems to have an answer to Edmonton. They are fast and they are heavy. Based on what I have seen so far they are the best team by far. Built for long series. They have always had the talent, just not the complete team. They look pretty complete so far.

Blasphemy as a Flames fan but I think the Oilers have a decent chance and honestly at this point any Candian team winning it would be a plus in my book, even if it's the Oilers.

WTF?

Cheer your team on. f*** what HFB says/thinks.

The Oilers look really good right now. I don't see how they don't make it out of the West. Maybe DAL will get Heiskenen back, but they should get Ekholm back at some point. I don't think they'd lose to WPG based on what I've seen.

Edmonton's problem is I don't think anybody actually knows what's wrong with Ekholm. He was out for weeks, came back and played half a shift, and has been out for weeks again. With a healthy Ekholm I do think they have a D that can win a cup, it's just hard to imagine him actually being healthy if/when he does come back.

Then again the Jets are also beat up now, and the Leafs have Tanev who's made of glass and could be injured any day now.
