I don't think it there is convincing involved. I get the impression that they do things as a management group.I think Staios can convince Andlauer to give up the pick this year.
I don't think it's official until a day before the draft? It sounds like they're keeping it this year....but things can still change between now and draft day.
Andlauer is still pissed about the penalty. He sounds like he wants to delay and continue to fight. It’s a dumb idea so hopefully he can be convinced to just give it up this year.I don't think it there is convincing involved. I get the impression that they do things as a management group.
That would be 6.71 plus a slight increase for 2025.So I'd like to swing a deal with Pittsburgh that includes the return of our 3rd.
Sign Knies to an RFA offer sheet at the max of what requires a 1st and 3rd to compensate.
B. Tkachuk and Knies as our top 6 LW's would be...very nice.
It is. Andlauer already stated as such. This is from NYT article posted five days ago...I would've thought this was Staios' decision, not Andlauers. Although of course the whole mgmt team will be in on it, it would surely be SS that will make the decision?
We better not keep it.
I thought we had to notify the NHL of our preference within a day following the draft lottery (which is May 5th or 6th according to TSN).
I think the $25 000 fine and why nobody on Ottawa said anything about it is because it’s the league coming down hard on Ottawa now, because after the playoffs they will announce they aren’t making them forfeit a 1st and will reduce the punishment - the $25 000 fine is meant to be sound severe because the league is about to give Ottawa a huge break
This is common sense if they try to galaxy brain this and it backfires heads need to rollIMO, the ‘25 mid 1st round pick likely won’t improve the team in the next year or two.
By giving up this years pick, the team can leverage the ‘26 pick at the trade deadline if they feel they improved vs this year. You can get some good players for a playoff run with a 1st in ‘26. If they’re playing worse, then just keep the pick which would be better than this year anyway.
Kindel Kindel Kindel. If we keep this years pick, I hope we select the most talented forward available. Perron and Giroux will be out of the picture after next year and that first round pick this year will have an opportunity to earn a spot on our meh top 6 wings.
