Two items
(1) Prior to 2000 or so, you're not going to get accurate ice time estimates other than for games where someone observes and records retrospectively. You will find calculations done based on who assists on which goals (which is a decent proxy, at least for high-scoring lines).
(2) The Strat-o-Matic game company publishes historical seasons, and researchers who put the seasons together will suggest line pairings based on historical use. For instance:

Suggests that for the 1960-61 season, Beliveau/Gendron/Geoffrion played a lot together while Hicke/Moore/Richard played a lot together. I can't guarantee accuracy (I'm a goalie dude) but it's a good starter.
