Where should we upgrade our roster?

I feel like staios has done a pretty good job giving us a balanced squad. We don't have obvious holes in our lineup but definitely some areas where we could benefit from an upgrade.

What do you see as the weakest points on our roster, RELATIVE TO THE PLAYER'S SLOTTING?

(I really like Jensen, for example, but I don't think he's an ideal choice for 1RD).

We need to upgrade our forward scoring. Perron and Giroux are non factors going forward at their age.

So we have

Stutzle
Tkachuk
Batherson
Cousins
Pinto
Zetterlund
Greig

We need two second line forwards to round out the top 9.

We need to turn Jensen into a younger 1RD.

So:
-#1RD
- top 6 forward
- top 6 forward.

Ehlers is a pipe dream. A) he's not choosing Ottawa. B) he's going to get a bloated contract and be over paid for the rest of his career. You have find a guy like that in the draft.

I was down on Giroux until Tuesday night. I thought he looked like the Giroux of old. Not sure how much left he has. If he's willing to take a pay cut, he could still be very valuable on our third line.

We need a guy like Carlo or Zadorov. They don't have to provide any offense.. they just need to be a nasty SOB to play against and protect our stars when the opposition takes liberties.

I'd like to change the makeup of the 4th line to be faster , more physical, grittier
I would also like to add a legit top 6 winger.
I would be ok running back the same D. If we can upgrade Matinpalo at a good price great. We probably want someone with a little more upside and possibly runway than Hamonic as a 7th D.

I don't know how we improve our offense if we run it back with Perron and Giroux as 2 of our top 6 wingers. 1 is ok. I like them both but its getting real close to the end of the rope.

Zetterlund .. not sure about him. He isn't a legit top 6 player for me. Same issues as now ... where does he fit. He can play up there but I'd like someone better.

Merilainen in .. Forsberg out... Expansion would mean we likely will want to trade Merilainen to get something for him and expose someone else.
