The downside about this is usually players who play the most playoff games will have the most points. Patrick Marleau is 53rd all time in points and even the most hardcore of sharks fans would never even think of him as one of the best forwards of all time.

Exactly. I did PPG and some guys are high in their 5 games played so tough to really dissect too far but can at least have a fun conversation with it.

Dude is trending towards a Hall of Fame career, kind of weird the amount of defamatory statements he's enduring.

It comes down to one fanbase being mad at him for asking for a big contract and getting traded and then a second fanbase being even more upset that he wouldn't sign the big contract. You do realize Rantanen just had back to back 100 point seasons including a 55 goal year, right? And that he's got one of the best playoff resumes amongst active players.

He's got one Cup already, there's a fair chance he adds another to that within the next several years (and as the best forward on his team this time), and he's not even 30 yet.

I never said he's not going to get in, but he's not there yet. I said he need 400 more points, that should do it?

He has less points than John LeClair so far in his career. There's a huge list of players with greater achievements than Rantanen who aren't in the HOF.

Fair enough I didn't see your list... which is so dubious that I think it's genuinely you just throwing a list of random players with longer careers.

Doesn't appear well thought out and contains like 4 aggregators and nobody solidly above Rantanen, let alone being a peer.

If I didn't know any better I'd say you have a chip on your shoulder about Rantanen in some shape, way or form regardless of his ability or career numbers.
