Where is Rantanen? Who is Rantanen? Why is Rantanen? What is Rantanen?

you can thank the elite Edmonton Oilers team defense for making Carolina's management look better
His dry spell began before facing EDM...9 games ago I believe is when his scoring nosedived...so they stopped someone whose guns had already stopped blazing.

Carolina doesnt need help making the playoffs and only sometimes making the Conference Final. Can do that already without him as they've proven for 7 years straight. But if he flames out vs tough CF-level opponents' D then, well, that's not that special or what CAR needs.

So unless you're suggesting FLA's defense is garbage, Ranta's rookie trade return and the RW he would've replaced out-performed him during their respective CFs, especially taking TOI and the PP into consideration.

I find that funny. Funnier still that his new team's city, after such a grand start vs COL, is already wondering WhereTF their $12 mill golden boy disappeared to.

He showed up for a grand total of 4 games in the playoffs. Got most of his point in batches and looked lost and uninterested in most games. It was a sorry showing. More in line with 3 months with Carolina than his time with Colorado. He doesn't appear to be a guy that stirs the drink.
He was the best player of Dallas in COL and WPG series according to advanced stats. He lead Dallas in high danger scoring chances after the first four Col games where he only scored one point.

After the playoffs he still leads Dallas in high danger scoring chances which are in addition to the situations where his points came from. He also leads Dallas in points. Batches or not he is the best player in these playoffs for Dallas. This is not on him.

exactly, hes a complimentary player that worked extremely well with MacKinnon and Makar and Colorado trading him messed up thier chemistry and Rantanen never found his footing and never looked good, and Dallas might regret signing that contract if Dallas can't surround Rantanen with gamers.

What are you talking about. Why do you say exactly when you have almost opposite point than the one you are quoting. Secondly he finished the playoffs with 22p in 18 games (1.2ppg). Thats not "never looked good". Just stop embarrasing yourself.

I have no complaints with Rantanen in these playoffs. Incredible player and so happy to have him for the next 8 years

Stars best forward by a mile and even in R3 he was creating, just wasn't getting his plays finished by teammates and was snakebit himself.

People will spin their narratives now, but he was better than everyone in these playoffs who isn't in the Cup Finals. Completely carried the Stars past Colorado

Oh, they will regret signing that contract for sure.

Mikko's a bus rider, not a bus driver, and he already got his cup, so he's good. He's gonna just chill and collect that cash.

Edit: He'll still score against the Avs though, whenever they play.
Bus rider who has had most points out of Avs forwards in last three playoffs before this spring. Your saltiness is embarrassing and reeks of bitter mentality.

Bus rider who has 1,2ppg, is leading his team in shots, high danger scoring chances and points. Who has over 40% more points than the second best scorer of Dallas. He scored almost one fifth of Stars points.

He really did a number on you by droppong your team didnt he?

Maybe, just maybe there's a possibility that Rantanen's low scoring at the end of the playoffs has to do with the fact the team wasn't playing well. They were losing puck battles, lack of depth scoring, ridiculous dump and chase style of play which doesn't work, clear lack of leadership which is reflected in case Hintz and the way people are underpefroming.

But Rantanen's "bust" wasn't the problem as he still was the best player in the team.

well, now hes heading for tennis or golf, but what he did was
remarkeble and one of the best PO highlights ever, that
will stick with him forever, it was sick.

Avs made the right choice moving on from him, not a difference maker.

Guess we'll just ignore the fact he has has more than double the points of anyone else on Dallas' roster except Harley and Hintz who he still beats by 8 and 10 points, respectively.

He wasn't only a difference maker. He literally was the Dallas Stars. When his offense stopped, Dallas died.

I love Mikko, but he is lazy as f***. Like I said before, when he's engaged few players can stop him. But it doesn't happen consistently enough.

He was getting double shifted, EDM has two of them. Must have been totally gassed, Dallas crashed out the moment he stopped scoring.

Yeah, he's not that guy. He's an elite finisher but not somebody you want as the guy.
It's obvious Dallas lacks high end talent to compete with EDM. Interesting to see what they will do in the offseason.

Yeah, he's not that guy. He's an elite finisher but not somebody you want as the guy.
Yet he leads Dallas in practically every offensive stat.

Why are you instisting on this view point that elite players should carry a lifeless underperforming team no matter what? How many points did MacKinnon score in the World Championship quarterfinals before getting dropped out by Denmark?
