Where is Rantanen? Who is Rantanen? Why is Rantanen? What is Rantanen?

that's really not that much.. he's still averaging fewer than 21 minutes per game these playoffs. his production won't just fall off a cliff because of a short stint of a few extra minutes per game. it's coincidence + various other factors unrelated to TOI

It’s weird to see the complaints after a game that was probably his best of the series

All game he was dangerous and creating, not just one period

You can see the click and change in Rantanen. He’s taken the role of a leader in Dallas and thriving in his new role. He’s not the 3rd guy behind Mackinnon and Makar, he’s the guy now

Only leads to one guess that those comments come from pure stat watchers

Oilers are way too fast for Rantanen. It will be “Where is Rantanen?” This series.

Yep

If I’m not mistaken Colorado was the fastest team in the league? So faster Edmonton will be the end of Rants rant

nah that guy’s a Stars fan

I don’t think it will be about an individual player like that.

Oilers are a very fast team. Stars are a very slow team. Edmonton will try to push the pace and Dallas will try to slow it down. They’ll probably succeed in alternating stretches, and what happens during those stretches will go a long way to deciding the outcome.

Very interesting series from an Xs and Os perspective.

As far as I understand, he doesn't look great vs Oiler?
I have barely noticed him. He needs some PP's to get noticeable.

He is obviously very talented and has shown he can break a game open. Went ape sh** against COL. Had that 4 game bender.

You just do not see him do things on his own that much most of a game constantly.

Oilers and Panthers are superior. I can already write that if Panthers keeps this up the deserve to win the cup again. Barkov, Lundell, Marchand, Verhaeghe, Bennett, Luostarinen, Tkachuk (been weak or injured even), Reinhart (got injured by Aho last game). That depth is unmatched. Then they have Seth Jones who has been lights out in some games with Forsling and Mikkola good as ever and of course Ekblad. Yeah, Bob can steal every second game as well.
They are the beast team.

He has 11 points in his last 3 games putting him ahead of McDavid.
Now has 2 points in his last 5 games. He never keeps his pace up; people should know this about him by now.

He’s led the league in scoring at the halfway mark of the season several times, pacing for 130-140 points.

Yet, he’s never come close to that range, nor has he ever come close to winning the Art Ross.

Sir this is a Rantanen thread.

You are very correct sir. My point was that Stars failure won't only depend or rather rely on Rantanen. Hintz has been pretty bad imo. Those other lines are even worse. Granny is like the best player in 1/3 the games.

Panthers haven't faced a team as good as Dallas/Oilers yet, your optimism is naive.

This is the Moose experience. When he’s hot, his combination of size and physical tools makes him perhaps the best winger in the game, outside of Kucherov.

But he’s not a consistent player when it comes to intensity and details.

At the end of any given regular season or playoff run, he will put up the star numbers and have stretches of complete domination. But there will be stretches of just hair-pulling non-factor play as well.

Still a top five winger in the game. But lacks the consistency to be truly transcendent superstar. That’s not just based on one bad series or a bad time in Carolina. That’s been Moose’s MO pretty much his whole career.

Definitely a hit or miss player. When he's ON, completely takes over the game and a borderline top 5 player.

When he's NOT. doing cardio for the whole game.

One thing said though, he should've became a centre. He looked very fantastic and competent during the Avs injury woes in 2022, not sure why Deboer wouldn't emphasize it more.
