And you have to figure he and his agent know there is a fit, and they have to see how much cap space the Canes have knowing he has a chance to sign a huge contract.

I wouldn't even be shocked to see a similar sign and trade that the Canes and Tampa pulled off for Guentzel last year if Toronto can't get him extended.

And Rantanen made a nice power dash on the wrap around goal but he wasn’t even close to wrapping it and got a lucky bounce. Then the empty net goal. He had the nerves to go and try risky moves in a situation when they are needed the most, that's what the playoffs are all about. There's a reason why some of the best regular season performers totally choke out in the post season.

Yeah, also that PP was really anemic, they got nothing done. Until Rantanen went hold my beer and willed that goal to happen. Yeah he got a lucky bounce from a skate but that was the kind of lucky bounce that was hard earned, it was not some nothing shot hitting 4 guys on the way to the net. It looked like if he didn't loose an edge he would've probably scored anyway, now he fell and lost the puck but it got in anyway. That's how you do it when you really want it bad enough.
