Speculation: WHERE IN THE WORLD IS JESSE PULJUJARVI?

This is no tragedy for Jesse. He gets to play, and If he plays as well as he played at the beginning of the season, somebody somewhere will get hurt and he is traded for a 7th round pick.

He will dominate in AHL.

Do you like Puljujarvi?

It was the decent thing to do. Without any help, a fragile boy like you would probably never grow up.
Fragile?

At least I'm not obsessed with an NHL wannabe who never lived up to even reasonable expectations.

You have the balls to mock people anonymously on internet, and I am pretty sure that's all that was expected from you. Well done.

Stupid conversation. Ends now.

So in essence I lived up to reasonable expectations but your friend Jesse did not.

I don't this is a serious enough topic to make things nasty. But I as Puljujarvi's supporter admit I was surprised nobody picked him. I thought he had a bit of a thing going when he played constantly in the 3rd line.

Already his performance in the World Championships was promising. He was the 2nd best scorer and the 2nd best goal scorer of the Finnish team and his +- was clearly the best (+5 in 8 games) so I thought he'd been a low risk chance for some team but I was wrong.

I do wonder how Puljujarvi's team wasn't able to use that and the points he'd had in the Penguins when playing in the 3rd line as a selling point to some team. At least on paper that IMO should've been a pretty tempting package for minimum salary, but obviously not.

I heard Jesse is still with the penguins, not in AHL. Maybe they are putting together a deal where he is swapped with another player?

He is in limbo atm. Dubas did him a favor and put him on waivers but no one wanted him. He's at least collecting NHL pay staying up with the Pens. The AHL Pens do not play again until Friday. There's probably a chance he gets sent down in time to play in that game. Which at that point is in his best interest.

He will collect NHL pay anyways, it's a one way deal. By friday we'll know where he is going. AHL is not a bad option at this point, popcorn is.

Puljujarvi was never going to get a spot based on performance or merit, just injuries to the coach's pets.
But ... but ... but ... Sullivan said play will determine your play time. You can't possibly be suggesting Sullivan lied about basing who plays on their actual play and not who his favorites are!?

From Sully on the Josh Getzoff show today. Basically says the guy isn't listening to the coaches at all.

"That's where Jesse and I have had points of contention," Sullivan said. "And a lot of it just boils down to details. You know, positioning in the defensive zone, what you're supposed to do off of face offs win or loss, rush coverage when you're tracking back into our end zone, what our rules are, awareness and recognition away from the puck, things of that nature. Those are just examples of some of the conversations that I've had with Jesse. And then usually I have him sit with Mike Vellucci, and we show him examples of what we're talking about. So he has a clear understanding of what the expectations are and why we make the decisions that we make. And as I say to players all the time, we don't always expect them to agree with the decisions that I make as the head coach, but my hope is that they respect the decisions that I make as the head coach. I try to go to great lengths to explain the whys so that players have a clear understanding of where they stand and what they have to do in order to improve their circumstance."

He must be a real dumb f*** behind the scenes, or something

Edit: to be clear, I'm referring to jesse, not Sullivan. I know some of you would have been confused with my sentence

Consistency was his biggest issue in Edmonton, too. I don't think his Carolina stint is worth evaluating because of the hip issue. But everything about his time in Edmonton was that he simply couldn't figure out a way to play consistently, even if that was ultimately as a bottom six player. It was the classic case of saying the right things, but not executing.

I think he's a variation of Kasperi Kapanen. The physical talent is there, but the consistency and the mental aspects of the game are not. And that is ultimately what separates players in the NHL.

A whole coaching philosophy based on not scoring the wrong kind of goals
