I'm saying that organizing a pseudo-tournament for only 4 countries (excluding the current World Champions), while sabotaging Olympics and the annual World Championships for
decades, is disgusting and an outrage.
If the NHL wants to
pretend they care about international best-on-best hockey tournaments, they should do it the right way. For example, by agreeing with IIHF to insert a February break like this
every year, so that IIHF can move the annual World Championships from May to February (and cancel them in Olympic years, as used to be standard in previous decades).
That's irrelevant. They allowed every other advanced hockey nation to play with their best players, but not Slovakia. Slovakia was repeatedly ****ed over. Slovakia won their preliminary group at the 1994 Olympics, yet they did this to them both in 1998 and 2002. Only in 2006, they "suddenly" saw the light, and that was the first legitimate best-on-best Olympic tournament for Slovakia. The NHL made sure to sabotage and destroy the most recent two Olympics (despite Slovakia winning bronze at the last one).
