My guess is Winnipeg or Montreal at $4.5M for three years.
Don't think Montreal brings him back, I recall Hughes alluding to that in one of his dressers if I recallMy guess is Winnipeg or Montreal at $4.5M for three years.

Is he the kind of guy that will just pick the highest contract offer? I don’t think 4.5 will be the best offer. There will be a club that offers over 10 mil.My guess is Winnipeg or Montreal at $4.5M for three years.
He seemed to be a good fit in montrealIt better not be Montreal.
$10M for two years. He had a 60 point season but has injury history. He is 29 years and can scoreIs he the kind of guy that will just pick the highest contract offer? I don’t think 4.5 will be the best offer. There will be a club that offers over 10 mil.
If the Leafs can move off of Tavares I could see them going for SM. Maybe 15 mil?He seemed to be a good fit in montreal

Montreal record was a lot better with him in lineup. But doubt he goes back there. Monahan solid player will get big contract and Newhook came on after trade. My guess is Winnipeg or Montreal at $4.5M for three years.
Caproom big deal for Jets. Monahan looking for last big contract.Even if he wasn't an impact guy in the playoffs, I can't see the Jets not pushing to re-sign him. Doesn't mean they win out, but they will try I believe.
Why those two? I assume he wants to be somewhere with a chance to win the cup soonishI am a Montreal fan but how about San Jose or Chicago for starters.

I could definitely see the Sharks going after him as a stopgap middle-6 C, especially if we don’t get Celebrini and Smith decides on another year in the NCAA. Obviously if Monahan care about winning he wouldn’t consider us.I am a Montreal fan but how about San Jose or Chicago for starters.
Detroit still needs that 2C in the short term. He fits there if they strike out on the Stamkos front.
He was a really good glue piece for us. Gave us a competent bumper on PP, just a unspectacular well rounded player. Why?
