Well, I was hoping to be the first to vote never, ever again but someone had spoiled my fun. BTW, how about letting people see how everyone voted.

So, I switched to 2023 just to jinx the shit out of them.

I have to say yes, because why would I watch if I felt there was zero chance?
My concern is the that the guys responsible for the room aren't moved nor is their ice time and habits changed.
It's appearing more and more likely that we largely have the same group again.

Things look bleak but I do think we squeeze in next year.
dyslexia ? Blake you mean? :sarcasm:

Since chevy is going to probably do nothing to improve the roster this offseason .. I say we are a bubble team the next 2 seasons and then rebuild

My pessimist side is on full display (probably due in part from an annoying week at work), so I voted never again

Realistically, it'll either be this season, next season, or 5 years after our rebuild.

This year. They won't go anywhere because Chevy hasn't improved the roster enough, but I think they make the playoffs this year.

Hoping I'm wrong and he makes some shrewd moves.

Gonna barely miss this year 22-23, do nothing again next offseason, completely bottom out with Wheeler/Hellebuyck/Scheifele/Dubois all packing their bags in their final years in the 23-24 season and then take a year to build with a new coach and half new roster in 24-25 followed by just making it back into the playoffs in 25-26 lead by Perfetti, Lucius, a 22 year old McGroarty and a 30 year old vet Nik Ehlers.

Halley was last seen in Earth's skies in 1986. It will return in 2061 on its regular 76-year journey around the Sun.

Seems a bit early for a thread like this. I think plenty are frustrated right now, but we still need to see how the summer shakes out.

I’m curious if Chevy is holding off on any FA signings until he gets 1-2 big trades done (Blake/PLD?). Keep the cap open bc he’s not sure what the trade returns will be perhaps

Helle is good enough to carry this team. I don't know much about Bowness but reading some of his thread he's apparently some defensive messiah. He did a good job not f***ing up the work Montgomery seem to have done in Dallas. So better defense+one of the best goalies in the league (although trending down 3 years straight), mixed in with the top-6 talent, that should be good enough to nab a PO spot.
Still lots of off-season left, and teams making transactions.

Not next. Year that is for sure to me. Our division and the West in general is very very tough.
We do not make it next year. I checked 2023 just on a hunch is all.

Voted 2023 (wishful thinking), but if they miss this year it should be tear down time and then it will be a looooong time.

2025 is my optimistic guess if they start rebuilding now
My thoughts, too.

I feel the season is a lame duck. Come deadline Chevy (or the new GM?) starts purging and gains a bevy of picks and prospects. 2024 is a young, talented team. 2025 team is in the playoffs.

It was a surprise they didn't make it last year. It would still be a surprise this year for me.

I’m curious if Chevy is holding off on any FA signings until he gets 1-2 big pickerel. Then back to the dock to crack a bottle of single malt and ponder the process. Keep the cap open bc he’s not sure if he’ll have one more before calling it a night.
