Book Feature When the NHL Invaded Japan (by Steve Currier)

Wow this is a really cool surprise and footnote in hockey/NHL history.

I was thinking this was going to be about the games played in Japan in the mid 90s.

Had no idea the NHL sent teams there 20 years prior!!!

Yes, MLB and both the NBA and ABA went over to Japan. The NFL, I'm not sure though.
The NFL has played a handful of preseason exhibition games in Japan.

There was also the Atom Bowl, which was organized by the Marine Corps to feature notable NFL players and college stars, played Jan 1, 1946 in the ruins of Nagasaki.
