Complicated due to our unclear authority to make the trades/know who's available.

We should get on this right awy, shouldn't we?

How about we use common sense, maybe?

The best player on the most intriguing up and coming team? Probably not actively looking to move him. And certainly not for a prospect, a decent young player and a pick. especially when said team also has the best prospect pool in the NHL.

Wheeler to NYI is just as nonsensical as Tavares to WPG, but nobody would be dumb enough to make that thread.

So unless Leddy is involved theres no deal...but the Jets dont need D? kind of contradicting yourself there lol...I do agree tho, there is no deal to be made here. Wheeler is one of a kind and the Jets would be silly to give him up for anything other then an over payment.

Was thinking value-wise

The Jets have a better future starting next season than most teams in the NHL, including the Islanders.

Hellebuyck is one of the best young goalies in the league.

Little, Scheifele, Ehlers, Byfuglien and Trouba behind Wheeler are definitely not middling players.

The Islanders on the other hand don't have anything too impressive (or better than what WPG has at least) beyond Tavares..

And I can't imagine Islander fans being too happy with a similar offer for Tavares. So why should the Jets for Wheeler?

you never know, we live in Winnipeg... a place where you need to draft your team and hope those players resign. A place no one wants to go on the FA market.... team is shaping up nicely, but only time will tell.
