GDT: WHC - Finland vs Sweden

GG to our finnish brothers. Garpenlöv have those magic grinding beans we all heard about. 4 straight wins for Sweden. We are not missing qf this time lmao.

Ok Sweden won in shootout. I was cheering for Finland because I have some Finnish roots but I think it was a deserved win for Sweden. Overall they were a bit better.

I see a 3rd place for Finland very likely too. I think that when the FIN-CZE game starts, they will be trailing 3 points behind and if they want to avoid Canada or Switzerland then they just have to beat Finland on the regular time.

Usually I am bitter as hell after a loss to Sweden, but I can't even be mad tonight.

I don't know why, but I am okay with it. Well deserved. Probably or something. Or perhaps it is that I have never been this sober during a game against Sweden.

I was more sour after our win over the US 😂

GG. I haven't checked how the seeds work but hoping for a final between these two teams.

If the Czechs lose even one more point, we will finish ahead of them if we beat GB and Austria no matter if we lose to them

Changes nothing of what I said about that game as it was playing in the 2nd period.

But of course that goes over your head.
 
Tight and well fought game, like it should be when playing our Suomi brethren. Happy with the win, of course. But, Finns will add Heiskanen and Lindell. Big upgrade on D. Without adding Nylander, I don't see this squad going all the way.

Don‘t you think you are too pessimistic? Even if Finland lose against the Czechs in regular time , the Czechs can get maximum 13 points. Finland already has 10 points now but they still play against Austria and Great Britain. They should manage against these two teams to get 4 points at least so Finland would finish at least with 14 points the preliminary round. 1 point more than the Czechs can attempt at maximum.

I remember a time when a Nylander was 5th best player on Tre Kronor. Crazy times.
