I am retired from being a civil servant for 15 years and with Bay and an old oil company for 15 years. For those who are still trying to get a better job it is tougher now than when I entered the workforce in the 70s. Use any connection you have and make yourself marketable and be patient. I work Monday-Friday as a warehouse hand, mostly in packing and shipping, but also things like hydraulic manifold assembly, work section assembly, and pretty much doing whatever the specialized guys need done. I'm currently a junior at university as a bio/chemistry double major with a minor in math, and medical aspirations. The biology and chemistry I'm enjoying, the math not so much haha. Mostly I just want to help people.

That's awesome man, keep working towards your goals and once you get there your attitude will carry you a long ways.

I work with law firms to help them locate doctors for medical malpractice cases. I do that for about two hours a day and spend a solid portion of the rest of the work day on Hockeys Future, so I can't complain.
