Seravalli: What's your best offer for Dan Vladar? Colorado would be a fit.

Don't know how much of an improvement he would be. However, Avs need to do something...it can't get much worse

Vladar has been playing fairly well, heading into tonight he was just above average in terms of SV% and GAA. Tonight he stopped 25 of 27 (both GA were on the PP).

I could get behind something like this:
  • to COL: Dan Vladar [2.200m, UFA '25]
  • to CGY: Alexander Georgiev [3.400m, UFA '25], 4th in '25 [VAN pick], 4th in '25 [COL pick]

One or both of those picks better have conditions to upgrade to a 2nd or at minimum a 3rd. It should cost at least that much just do dump Georgiev

Paying a 2nd for Vladar would be a poor decision imo

He's been mediocre this year with a track record of being shit and no track record playing starter workload.

He was arguably the worst goalie in the league last year (dead last in GSAx/60).

I'd like a goalie (serviceable NHL backup type) back if Vladar is traded. Cooley has been great in AHL, but Ignatjew has been quite bad. Having him as the #1 for Wranglers is not good for them and prospects development.

Dan Vladar has been consistently good this season - but I wouldn't expect most stat watchers to know that.

He got absolutely shelled in the very first period of the season (not by his own doing) but has played at a .915% since then.

The Avalanche could do a whole lot worse than this guy, and he'd be a massive improvement on what they have received to date this season.

I feel like if they’re taking back Georgiev they can get more than two 4ths. However the Flames draft their best players in the 4th round so this might actually be the angle to take

Vladar for Georgiev and picks is a really interesting base offer but you have to think Avs do need to at least throw in a 2nd.

I highly doubt Georgiev would go in the deal. They would want someone to form a 1A/1B combo with Georgiev, not outright replace him.

Annunen is probably the one going back in the deal if I were to guess.

That said I just hope they don't make the deal at all. Vladar hasn't exactly been great so far in the NHL. He doesn't scream upgrade and the values being tossed around here by Flames fans are a bur absurd for what Vladar has been so far.

If we're paying a 2nd, or 3rd+ I'd rather just pay a bit more and get Gibson with retention.

Flames wont trade Vlad for less than they paid, which was a 3rd. Hes doing well in a platoon with Wolf. If the Avs want him they will have to pay. 2nd round pick is most likely the ask, especially if the Flames are taking more salary back.

I get the Flames POV but this would just be stupidity by the Avs. There’s nothing…literally nothing…to suggest Vladar is capable of being the full time starting backstop for a good team, nor is his track record any better than Georgiev’s. Quite frankly, it’s considerably worse. You can make all the concessions about Georgiev being on a good team and Vladar not but I read CalgaryPuck pretty regularly. Nobody…no Flamea fans…thinks Dan freaking Vladar is the answer for anything.

For the Avs to expend draft capital on him on the prayer that he suddenly becomes A) a legit NHL starter and B) good…that’s beyond comical and a complete waste of assets. The Avs don’t need MORE goalies…they need THE goalie. And any use of assets otherwise is stupidity.

I doubt he’d be an improvement on some of the guys on the UFA market. Carter Hart comes to mind. I thought he looked really good last year
