After their Cup win and 2nd SCF in two seasons, Crosby was under a PPG for his first 26 games that year, his worst stretch of hockey over a ten year period including his first 26 games as a rookie. He then was at a 1.50 PPG the rest of the way and above 1.60 over the next three seasons.
It is very believable that he had a bit of the SC hangover to start that season. I am sure he takes a Cup a 100 out of 100, and the HF jibes, over winning the Ross in 2010.
If McDavid turns it up in the playoffs then talk of a bit of a regression in the regular season get forgotten.
