There isn't one dominant element that you can point to which would explain this run of success, but if I had to pick one thing, I think it's just the general structure without the puck.

Players aren't looking lost in their assignments and the odd man rushes have gone way down aside from the Dallas game (which was a back to back).

No other coach would have put up with Dach green jacket streak. He deserves a lot of praise for his patience.

The awakening of Kirby Dach, which is finally giving the team a true 2nd line, has to be up there, along with Laine, Lane, and Carrier as the 4 main factors.

I'm not saying that's the reason, but this team turned things around after acquiring Carrier. Is it pure luck, who knows but the team has been completely different since!

His patience with Anderson, Gallagher, and Armia last year when everyone wanted them on waivers has also paid off.

But you also have to keep in mind that patience also stems from the top. In most other situations the coach won't be as patient because they fear for their own job if they don't win enough games. Hughes setting the environment where the coach can be patient with a player is also a big part of it.
