I would hope my team would give him the boot to the curb if he rejected that offer from him..better yet, it would be better if they didn't offer him that much money for that long.

Habs fan - voted 11+mil.

I'm a bit worried about his age, but just a bit....age 29, 8 years (or 7?) brings him to age ~36-37. I'm still not sure if I feel he's the type of goalie to age well past ~34-35, or to start to decline early, at like ~31-32 or so. Because for Habs, we could use him this year in next, but it's minimum 2 years away where we'd really be a contender I'd say.

Also - I just wanted to say....it's hard to note vote for the highest $$ in this type of poll, for a top player.

Look at it this way - if you're willing to pay him 11M....do you really let him walk for 12? What the hell else are you going to do with that extra 1M, pay for an extra 15th forward 4th liner who might play 3 games?

Pass and i'd consider sending him a fruit basket if he milked an 8-year contract from the Rangers.

I don’t know what they would give him. Not as much as others, I expect, as they really aren’t ready for him. I’m sure they would take him for an insulting amount of money though.

I’m going to vote 9 million.

As a Blackhawks fan hes a tad bit too old for our window, so I wouldn't go crazy.

If he was a couple years younger and fit into their plans more easily, I'd have no quals paying him 11 per.

Honestly? He's a great goalie overall but games like the Buffalo game remind you that he's a little bit of a headcase. Playing like the best goalie in the league just randomly shits his pants. And outside of his Vezina season always has a long stretch that is absolutely God awful. He's been very good keeping his team in it in the playoffs, rarely giving up more than 3 goals but he also tended to give up softies at bad times. On the other hand for the Rangers he's their trump card as the team is flawed and while we can avoid resigning him and improve the flaws that means I should have trust that Drury will recognize the flaws and address them appropriately AND we find a good not great goalie. I just don't think I trust Drury. I'm pretty sure the organization thinks our D is great because we have the best goalie tandem in the league (Buffalo atrocity notwithstanding). So all in all, I think I might have to bite the bullet and resign him in the 11 million - 12 million dollar range where it seems like he wants to be.
