What would you trade Larkin for... a thought exercise

Except that Ehlers is actually good. Berggren doesn't do much even when he does get an opportunity.
Berggren put up 15 goals and 28 points in his rookie season. He was rewarded by demotion to the AHL due to lack of defensive prowess. He put up 12 goals and 24 points this year but improved his +/- by 1.

He’s an offensive (though not great) player. He’s not the two way player the Wings want everyone to be.

Yzerman already traded star player Marten St Louis for bunch of nonsense I don't trust him
That trade of St. Louis to the Rangers was a great trade for Tampa. St. Louis was 38-years old and subsequently retired after the next season. I mean, the return Yzerman got for St. Louis was highway robbery.

Pretty bad take ace.

He's also not that good of an offensive player. Good players force their way up, regardless who is on the team.

Fair. But I would argue that when you are put in a more non-offensive role or position, you might not be able to. Berggren was always a more offensive type player. Why draft and force him to be two way?

Jiri Hudler says hi. Beat both Datsyuk and Zetterberg and finished top 10 league wide in scoring when a team put him on the top line. And the experts here swore up and down that he simply wasn't any good.
