What would you trade Larkin for... a thought exercise

I have never understood this board's fascination with Rossi. Nice player, but certainly not someone I pine for and certainly not someone I would pin our center depth on. The fact that MN would be willing to move on from him says a lot.

For purposes of full disclosure, I have little time for undersized centers.
Are they tho? if i had to guess he will get a pretty fat contract.

He's also a gym nut n has martin st. louis legs.

I would heavily consider moving the 12th pick if that is where we stay.
yeah, really curious what we could get for it. There is so much parity, though, that I'm not sure how much teams really want a 1st coming back as the main thing. I think it would almost have to be on a team on the edge of blowing it up and rebuilding a bit. Maybe NYI? Maybe Vancouver, but I think they are a year out from making that sort of decision. Maybe Calgary? Nashville? Yzerman talks about only looking for guys in the 23-28 age range but not a lot of guys out there, I think, where teams are looking to move that for picks.

Agreed. Id be very open to moving that pick. I think the problem we will run into is so many teams taking a similar mind set. Really, I'm not seeing many teams as sellers right now.

Islanders... Maybe but a new GM might want to take some time before a major shake up.

I don't see Calgary selling. They never seem willing to sell unless they are forced to. Gaudreau and Tkachuk are good examples of that.

Nashville, ya maybe.

Honestly, I feel like everyone else will be trying to add.

Rasmussen was drafted 9th and is 13th in NHL GP from his draft.
Veleno was drafted 30th and is 15th in NHL GP from his draft.

Yes, I would categorize both guys as hits. Using baseball terms, you don't view everything except a homerun as a miss, do you?
Quality minutes over quantity minutes please.

Fact is Rasmussen should never been picked as number 9. Then trade down and get another asset, no one else picks him top 15.

Veleno, the biggest issue for him. Is, he doesn't have any stronger abilities in the NHL, for now at least.
Not a big points producer, not a PP guy, not a must need defensive forward, not a great center, not a quality winger. He can do a lot of things at a decent level, but nothing great at this stage and that is why he is off this team.
