TBH Cat and Larkin can go if the price is right.Cat will be gone before his contract ends , always said i see no world where Yzerman gives him a 7-8 yr long deal. His days are numbered

I feel like if this speculation/assumption was true, we would have heard about it by now.A. Like I said, it is a thought exercise.
B. I don't know why you think there isn't any way he demands a trade. We will miss the playoffs this year and we are certainly not guaranteed to make it next year either. Why do you think he would be kosher with no playoff hockey indefinitely?
Larkin can only be dealt on his last two years. He won’t waive before thenTBH Cat and Larkin can go if the price is right.
Someone else mentioned they can strip him of the C meaning if they really want him gone they can force him out indirectly.Larkin can only be dealt on his last two years. He won’t waive before then
He’d probably go shoot pucks in his parents basement in anger and come backSomeone else mentioned they can strip him of the C meaning if they really want him gone they can force him out indirectly.
I'd offer up:He's on a good contract. The team is slowly but steady getting more depth at C with Kasper and hopefully Danielson next season. So let's wait and see Larkin can performance in a team where teams can't just focus on shutting his line down.
I doubt Larkin wants to go anywhere else with his family so rooted in Michigan as well. Plus trading him now would just set us back further because we probably wouldn't get an ideal return back.
If he's not kosher with it maybe he should play better. Since the 4 nations break he has 2 more points than Kasper and is a -11 vs Kasper's +4. Not sure why he should feel entitled to playoffs if he's not performing better than a rookie.A. Like I said, it is a thought exercise.

In my hypothetical, you could possibly draft Anton Frondell, add Noah Östlund, and have Marco Kasper and Nate Danielson as your centers. No guarantee that any of them end up better than Larkin, but you'd have 4 guys all drafted between 5ish and 16th overall and all right around 19-20 years of age. They would all be in their prime when Mo, Ed and ASP are all in their prime.
Just following the most likely path in this thought experiment, e.g. we reset the rebuild to fit the prime ages of our best young players.
petes mentioned the possibility of carolina being a good fit in the other thread. larkin for nikishin perhaps? kasper is looking like he could hold his own on the first line. if you believe that danielson is your solution for 2c and one of finnie, plante or becher will make it as a c
nikishin - seider
edvinsson - sandin-pellikka
I'd offer up:
1- (1 of C prospects) Hage/ Beck/Kappanen
2- both MTL 1sts this draft ~13 & 17
3- Mailloux (RHD)
Larkin is the perfect 2C
I’d love this but doubt Carolina does itpetes mentioned the possibility of carolina being a good fit in the other thread. larkin for nikishin perhaps? kasper is looking like he could hold his own on the first line. if you believe that danielson is your solution for 2c and one of finnie, plante or becher will make it as a c

we want Larkin (to play with) Demidov (and Laine), not to swap for himDemidov for larkin hehe
larkin + debrincat? i'd be willing to go through another down season while our young forwards figure it out knowing we're rock solid on the backend for the next decadeI’d love this but doubt Carolina does it
Nikishins potential is too high
You would be willing to trade Larkin AND DCat for a 23 year old soon to be 24 when next year starts with zero NHL games?larkin + debrincat? i'd be willing to go through another down season while our young forwards figure it out knowing we're rock solid on the backend for the next decade
would you trade larkin and debrincat for a left handed seider with a better shot on an entry level contract? You would be willing to trade Larkin AND DCat for a 23 year old soon to be 24 when next year starts with zero NHL games?
Yes I would but we are assuming he will be that which is not certain. Like I said he has played zero NHL games. I think if I'm willing to give up a #1C/#2C thirty goal scorer and another 30 goal scorer both in their primes id want a lot more than this.would you trade larkin and debrincat for a left handed seider with a better shot on an entry level contract?
i mean, the premise is that larkin asks to be traded, would control where he goes and would certainly prefer to go to a contender than buffalo + debrincat probably wouldn't want to stay here either if we move larkin. add our 10-12 pick this year and a top 5 pick next year to this young group and we'd have a formidable looking team going into 26-27
i've got fans from both teams saying no way, so that probably means it's closeYes I would but we are assuming he will be that which is not certain. Like I said he has played zero NHL games. listen, no one is a bigger debrincat fan than i am. but the premise of the thread is that larkin goes to yzerman and requests a trade. debrincat would probably request a trade at that point too since we'll basically be admitting that we're retooling the rebuildGetting rid of Cat is the dumbest thing I've ever read. Why get rid of a proven goal scorer? You're gonna downgrade or get equal?
I pray Cat retires a Wing.
