Yes you did sorry .I thought same thing u did thoughLol that's why I put it in there. Apparently Dallas approached LA targeting AD, so it just seems like a little tunnel vision and an impatient GM.

Yea, Matthews is the worst comparison. Doncic has playoff numbers second only to MJ, Matthews can't even do the bare minimum.Seeing a lot of Matthews in here but Doncic has seen past the 2nd round. It'd be more like Draisaitl getting traded since he made the finals as part of an elite offensive duo the previous year and is arguably a top 3-4 player in the world (like Doncic is). It's crazy that it happened.
I wonder how it will work with 2 ball dominant players with similar games with Bron and Luka but that's definitely not an on topic convo here.
Matthews for Q. Hughes
Comparing Matthews to Doncic is a joke. One has one of the greatest playoff performances of all time. The other is Matthews. My friend who follows both sports said something like Auston Matthews for JT Miller.
If the Canucks trade Hughes for Karlsson I'm definitely going to find out what bleach tastes like.Yea, Matthews is the worst comparison. Doncic has playoff numbers second only to MJ, Matthews can't even do the bare minimum.
A better comparison would be Mac or Drai for Stamkos if there was a bigger age gap. Or something like Quinn Hughes for Erik Karlsson
Could be anything from the Dallas GM is a f***ing moron, Dallas owners wanted to get under the luxury tax threshold, or Dallas owners want ties to sports gambling which Texas has rejected, so they'll tear it down and move to Vegas.Maybe i don't understand basketball but why did Dallas trade Doncic? He's like the second best player in the league and only 25 yo.
Weber was better than SubbanSubban for Weber?
Having the Lakers relevant makes huge dollars for the league. All clubs benefit.Maybe i don't understand basketball but why did Dallas trade Doncic? He's like the second best player in the league and only 25 yo.
Matthews is a top 5 player like Luka.Comparing Matthews to Doncic is a joke. One has one of the greatest playoff performances of all time. The other is Matthews.
Miller is also a far better hockey player than Davis is at basketball, especially with how unreliable he is
Draisaitl for Malkin and a 2029 1stIt’s a top five player in the league in his mid 20s going for a really solid player but he’s on the wrong side of 30 and not the top guy on his own team. The sort of trade where every other team is mad because they would have been in on this and many of them would have been able to make a better offer. Matthews for Miller isn’t a bad comparison. Maybe something with McDavid instead?
If you ignore playoffs you might have a point. But that completely ignores the context of Doncic carrying his team to the finals, something Matthews has never and likely won't ever doMatthews is a top 5 player like Luka.
David is a top 10 player. Miller is nowhere close.
I don't really see that one, the Penguins will be shit in 2029. The Lakers are likely back to being a top team by thenDraisaitl for Malkin and a 2029 1st
Completely different sports so the comparison doesn’t make sense. Luka controls almost every possession on offense, there’s much more high event impact events in general. It’s a silly comparison. It would be like saying McDavid is way worse than Mahomes because of rings. Certain star players and certain sports have a larger impact on team success and a much narrower range of variance in single game or single series settings. If you ignore playoffs you might have a point. Miller is no where close to Davis as a playerComparing Matthews to Doncic is a joke. One has one of the greatest playoff performances of all time. The other is Matthews.

Everything you're saying makes sense. However you can't ignore their playoff performances. One has the 2nd greatest playoff performance after MJ, the other is one of the greatest playoff failures (relative to their salary and regular season).Completely different sports so the comparison doesn’t make sense. Best way to handle is just a fairly generalized sense of league “rank” so to speak rather than try and jam a square peg into a round hole.
Matthews was number three on the tsn top player list to start the season. People can squabble on that stuff. NBA fans do the same stuff with players like Luka and Davis.
No he's not. Davis is around the 8th-12th best player in the NBA. Problem is 1) he's 32 2) he's constantly hurt 3) he can't carry a team by himself, as we saw from his time in New OrleansMiller is also a far better hockey player than Davis is at basketball, especially with how unreliable he
Yup pretty much thisNo he's not. Davis is around the 8th-12th best player in the NBA. Problem is 1) he's 32 2) he's constantly hurt 3) he can't carry a team by himself, as we saw from his time in New Orleans
Miller is 11th in points since 2020. There's certainly an argument to be made that he's a top 10 forward at least. Hes certainly better than players like Marner and Panarin ahead of him.Miller is no where close to Davis as a player
Miller is fringe top 10 player at best 2 of the 6 years he spent with Canucks
AD is fringe top 10 every year since 19-20 to now.
He also is a top 3 defensive player in the world and was as important to the 2020 ring for the lakers as Lebron was
And Miller is in that range as well, bonus points for being healthy. No he's not. Davis is around the 8th-12th best player in the NBA. Problem is 1) he's 32 2) he's constantly hurt 3) he can't carry a team by himself, as we saw from his time in New Orleans
Millers is a non top 20 player in the leagueMiller is 11th in points since 2020. There's certainly an argument to be made that he's a top 10 forward at least. Hes certainly better than players like Marner and Panarin ahead of him.
Like you said AD is also borderline top 10. Difference is AD is always hurt, Miller is super reliable.
Yea, if Miller went to a super team like AD did he'd have a ring too. He could easily be to Mackinnon what AD was to Lebron
And Miller is in that range as well, bonus points for being healthy.
No argument on point #3 from me
