Speculation: What would it take…?

I love this team.

The older I get the more different my attitude and thought process about being a fan becomes, however.

I’m generally much less critical…..sure I pop off on here from time to time when I see something I don’t like, but I don’t hold on to it for as long as I used to.

I’m a month away from being 55….and while those older than me will say….”that’s not old”…to me it is.

And it has caused me to look at sports very differently.

For example….the B’s are going to draft an 18 year old kid in round 1 this June. That kid is 7 and 5 years younger than my kids.

When that kid hits his prime, I’ll be between 60 and 63 or so years old.

Who knows what will happen in my life between now and then, which is why I don’t care if they trade every pick they have if it truly improves their cup chances.

That pick the B’s have from Florida on 27 or 28 will be in his prime when I’m frigging pushing 70!

Who knows if I’ll know the difference between the Bruins and Celtics at that point?

This post makes me wonder: what would it take for you to say “f*** the Bruins. I’m done”? Even more, what would have to happen for you to switch allegiances? Who would your new team be? Would you thow your bruins gear in the trash or burn it?

What would your breaking point be? And don’t say you don’t have one. Everyone does.
For me as a Bruins fan, my lowest point was 2009 when Scott F'ing Walker scored in OT of game 7. I was absolutely distraught and that's the game where I wondered if this was all worth it.
I wasn't able to watch game 7 the next year against Philly but that was still tough.
My wonder if it was all worth it came on June 15th, 2011. It was YEARS thinking i wasn't really sure it actually happened. Was I disappointed in 2013 and 19, sure? Do I agree with DKH that the bruins would have won the cup in 2020 if not for COVID, I do.

I would never throw away a jersey or hat in disgust of my team, ever. I might throw a hat at home (2009) but that's it.

Bruins fan for life.

I don’t have one either….I don’t change teams. Ever. And I’ve been through way worse than this past season. But that’s just me.
