We are getting close to new year and Rantanen has not been signed yet.
Everyone that has followed the NHL, let's say two years or more, knows he will not be traded in the middle of Stanley Cup window/year. So none of that crazy talk here thanks.
If you were the GM of the Avalanche what would be your absolute max number you would sign him for the next 8 years.
Not the number that would be the best for the team, not the number you would be even comfortable with but the last take it or leave it number?
For example:
Mikko is asking 13 million/8 years.
Managment is offering 12 million/8 years.
Is that 1 million(with cap rising fast) really the deal breaker and you just let him walk?
