What would be more painful - Being a Leafs fan or being a Sabres fan

Leafs - Good regular season every year. High hopes. Superstars forgetting how to play every season after game number 82. Losing 6 years in a row in a 1st rd and after that, never winning more than a round one.

Sabres - Plenty of high draft picks. High Hopes of getting into the playoffs. 14 seasons. Never making it.

Is there anything that comes close to the torture of these two fanbases in a this long period? Which one is worse?

Sabres fan and it's gotta be us. There's been very little hope for the last decade, and the path forward doesn't look great either. Incompetent management made big bets on the wrong players and got rid of the wrong players.

I'm a Leafs fan and one of my best friends is a Sabres fan. For him it's a slow death felt for a couple months from December to February. For Leaf fans its a quick death that spans a few hours. Give me the quick death. I'm still able to say; "well at least we're not Buffalo" to him.

Also. Toronto was a top 5 team who took the previous champ to 7. They may be the only one to do it.

What’s odd about Toronto is the way they manage to do it… no matter what losing in game 7….

But Toronto has the longest playoff streak. Has won 2 rounds. Has taken multiple champs and finalists to 7. They are a consistent 100 pt team.

It’s not even close. Many teams have way worse records. It only matters because it’s Toronto

lol dude, I was thinking of this headed into playoffs but figured I shouldn’t throw stones and such- but ya man, I’d almost rather be at the bottom of the hole thinking “someday” rather than be the guy who has devised and tried elaborate plans and yet is also still in the same hole.

I worked with a Leafs fan, good dude who was just unfortunately born in Toronto, and he doesn’t even like the core! That’s wild to me. I despise the Sabres owner, but I like Dahlin, Thompson, Tuch, etc. I just can’t imagine rooting for your team to win a cup, but responding “I liked Hyman” when asked for your favorite Leaf.

They get robbed every year of hope, but they still believe

Buffalo Sabres straight up doesn't make the playoffs, at all
There's nothing there, but a garbage team. At least Toronto can enjoy some heroics during the season
Buffalo have been through two rebuilds and still can't make it there
