The 92/93 leafs and 93/94 leafs went back to back conf finals on the backs of gilmour, Clark and andreychuk. Between those 2 playoffs, the leafs were 3-1 in game 7’s. That group had killer instinct. Gilmour nickname is even killer. This leaf group has basic instinct.

You forgot about a guy named Felix Potvin. That goalie who played so well it made Fletcher comfortable trading Fuhr for Andreychuk.

And it kinda sounds funny the way you say killer instinct and Gane 7 record when they failed to advance to the SCF with that "killer instinct".

It's obvious just spending time on Hfboards that Leafs fans, who fancy themselves living in the Mecca of Hockey, don't know shit about their team's history.

So it's even worse than your average joes on the street not knowing, it's fans spending their entire days on a Hockey forum, not knowing.

Hockey is entertainment. It is so incredibly weird to gatekeep how someone consumes their entertainment. It's like criticizing someone who goes to see modern Broadway shows - some people just want to go watch Hamilton and Les Mis without having formal education on Aristophanes and Moliere. They may be foundational playwrights, but do you need to have studied them to call yourself a theatre fan? And where do you draw the line?

This forum is forever this way, and it irritates me to every end. I have visceral memories of watching Dominik Hasek, Teemu Selanne, and Alex Mogilny live. I hve a close connection with that era of hockey. I never experienced hockey from before the 90s. Sure, I've been to the HHOF, I have seen highlights of Orr and Howe, but I really don't have the same appreciation of it. Do I need to study the stat books to be a hockey fan? Are eras really even comparable? The all star players from the 70s (taking smoke breaks in between periods) would get absolutely destroyed by modern athletes.
