Why even have a regular season if everybody is making the playoffs anyway? It's already a little odd that more than half the league makes it. 2/3 making it would be stupid.

They're just scrambling for ways to make up for lost revenue this season.
It's terrible, but probably a one season gimmick.

The people worrying about the value of a Cup in a shortened season may have just found themselves a soapbox to stand on. Doubt it does anything to final contenders, though... except tire them out more.

Guess that means the Devils should just win it this year in a shortened season as well. Don't want another team's fan base to have to look like hypocrites if their team was to win.
