What was Dan Blackburn’s potential?

A little respect, please.
My wife's nephew , Ric Jackman, had 24 points in his 25 games ...Feb 11th onward with them and the Penguins were 12-5-3 the last 20 games . The only dman with more points in that stretch was Brian Leetch. Could not cut the mustard after that though...must have been a new coach or whatever....something changed .

Goalie fan here.

It's hard to say where Blackburn would have ended up. The storybook what if scenario would say he would have been a Rangers superstar and basically had the career Lundqvist had. But it was also a bit of a transitional era for goalies so it's difficult to predict how his style would have evolved with the times. The other factor is if normal wear and tear would have done him in like so many of the pure athlete types of that era. Don't think he was quite the pure athlete Marc-Andre Fleury was/is, but you can see how guys like Kari Lehtonen, Pascal Leclaire, Rick DiPietro of that generation were all kind of wrecked by injuries.
