This is the second greatest:
You will like it. I finished the finale yesterday. It's kind of ER meets 24. You get some personal insight into the characters and a handful of non standard cases. But, I do like that it shows the waiting room area at times to capture the realism of the strain on a typical ER where people are waiting several hours to see a doctor. Cast is a fair representation of how a medical staff would be comprised of.Started watching the Pitt recently. Think im 5/6 episodes in. I've never really watched a hospital type show in the past (never seen House/ER/Scrubs/Greys etc) as theyve never really appealed to me, but kept hearing great things about The Pitt so decided to check it out.
Been really impressed. Can't say I have any complaints about what I've seen, everything about the show is just extremely well done.
Lost was super enjoyable to watch with my wife since it kept us asking questions the whole time but man I'm still not sure about the payoff.
It's in between. I've heard it referred to as a tragicomedy, which I think is fitting. There's an air of existential dread among the storylines of each season, and it sort of feels like you're watching a car crash in slow motion.Still haven't gotten around to watch The White Lotus. But now that the third season is done I feel like binging it.
What's the general tone of the show? Is it more comedic, more drama, something inbetween?
First season is definitely more of a comedy compared to the other 2 seasons. Seasons 2 and 3 definitely more of a mix between the two.Still haven't gotten around to watch The White Lotus. But now that the third season is done I feel like binging it.

I think it would have been a really cool movie.Watched the first two seasons of Severance. Great premise (and I do like the general visual look as well as the intro) that initially got me pretty excited, but gets progressively worse and worse as it gets further and further removed from introducing the intricacies of its neat premise, with what felt like not a lot to offer beyond that, and also annoyingly falling into the usual trappings of mystery-box-type shows, in my opinion. Would make a great single episode of Black Mirror, or maybe a movie. The early scenes of episode 1 and 2 that show the ins and outs of someone experiencing it felt pretty damn cool to me (and again, got me excited about the show as a whole), but nothing else strongly engaged me in the same way again after that. In particular, there was a lull in the middle of season 1 that I struggled to get through because I got so little out of it, and season 2 has pretty much lost me.
Still though, that premise is inspired enough that I don't feel bad at all about it being a pop culture phenomenon/water-cooler-talk type of show. Could be worse.
I think I remember liking the ending the last time I saw it. The problem I've had watching this time is I've spent every episode remembering what happens. Oh he dies! She dies! She does this, that, etc. Ironic given S6. But I'm not sure how it will go. I'm a few episodes into S4 and the sheer thrill of S1/2 is long gone. But what an experience those first 40/50 episodes are.Lost was super enjoyable to watch with my wife since it kept us asking questions the whole time but man I'm still not sure about the payoff.
Yeah, I hated Isabel May's narration in 1883. Definitely tempered my enjoyment of the series hearing those voice-overs so often. Not sure if you're interested in 1923, but be warned, Sheridan brought her back to do those same narrations in it as well. Only slightly toned down.Watched 1883 last week and thought it was ok. Sam Elliott is by far the best part and some the other acting was good too. The main character was well acted but she was a bit too much for me and some of her scenes were laughable. Her narration was pretty cliche and at times flat out cringy. Of course, Taylor Sheridan had to get in his usual commentary about cities ruining America and so on.
I thought McGraw and Hill were ok at acting but a little stiff at times. Found them odd casting choices as their characters have a 5 year old boy and apparently had another kid when they got to Montana despite clearly being in their 50's. Like someone else said, the show had a weird way of portraying natives. Overall, I enjoyed it well enough but I'm a sucker for westerns and love a good cattle drive. It was no Lonesome Dove though.
Is Danny McBride any different in this than he is in everything else he's ever been in?View attachment 1021611
God this show is f***ing hilarious, we're 8 episodes in and loving it. Very well casted and great performances from everyone. Danny McBride is a comedy genius. Every character just hits the mark for the parody of a mega-church televangelist family. Interesting that despite it being a comedy series there are actually some nice serious moments to be had as well.
No he’s not really much different, but his style of comedy does it for me lol.Is Danny McBride any different in this than he is in everything else he's ever been in?
I find him to be very annoying. The definition of a comedic actor who just throws everything against the wall and hopes something sticks.
Can't wait to watch this one. I absolutely loved the first season of The Rehearsal and pretty much all of Nathan For You. He really is on another level. The Rehearsal season 2.
Nathan Fielder is just a comedic genius. There is no one on the planet that can do what he does. The way he can just take a super serious topic and put such a comedic spin on it is unmatched. His ideas are just so out there and ridiculous. Really curious to see how this season plays out.
