Speculation: What to do about goalies

Some people seem think Bowman should materialize a better goalie out of thin air. Y'all do realise this ain't a video game, right?

What I'm saying is we're f***ed on the goalie front this season. Nothing good is available unless you massively overpay. Blackwood was maybe the last good one available and the Avs smartly snatched him up.

So on the theme of Skinner I'd like to contrast some things. Oilers fans had a two week window to look at Binnington for Canada. No less than Jon Cooper were saying Bins was in because he was a best in world class puck handler. In effect a third D there moving puck and transitioning before forecheck arrives. This was CRITICAL against a punishing US forecheck. That quality alone in Bins allowed us to Win. 20X a game he'd make PERFECT plays with the puck and rarely misplays. With him about 20/1 ratio. Good vs questionable plays with puck.

Skinner last night and always is UNDER 50% in his plays with puck. What I mean is that the majority of time his plays end up on an opponents stick. Sometimes cleanly but most often putting puck uncontrolled into a spot where Oilers have less than a 50/50. Against the clubs we've played on this road trip that alone is poison. Florida were feasting on that last night. They got about a dozen pucks last night because Skinner is hopeless playing the puck.
