Nice that the team gave him a pretty easy night in goal. Washington helped too...if they score on that power play after that tic tac toe passing play with the Hank down and out, it's an entirely different game. Luckily the Washington player choked on it.

ok, in 06-07 Brodeur finished 48-23-7 with a .922%

since he pads his stats by not facing any shots, I decided to take the top 15 (and ties) games where he faced the most shots that season

so it came out to 16 games of 34 shots or more that season

12-2-2 .938%

oh but that wasn't a Lemaire season, lets check out one

96-97
Brodeur 37-14-13 (remember when we didnt have skills comps to end games) .927%

in the 15 games - 29 shots and up

7-1-7 .956%
(haunting lack of scoring that year let you guys beat us in the playoffs)

oh and Lundqvist is rusty like he was last year, that is all

as a hockey fan (but maybe not a ranger fan :naughty:), it's sickening when people say brodeur is only good because of the defense in front of him.

not that it even justifies an argument, but the fact this guy was one of the top goalies for 20 years should say enough. you're not that dominant for so long without being flat out great

Exactly. I hope we see more of this Hank. I loved his play tonight. He played angry, I think.

He's mentioned in the past that he players better when he's angry or with a chip on his shoulder. That happens when the team is losing, and he HATES losing. It also helps when they are closer to home, the comforts that come with that, and the fact that they are playing against a high-powered offense. He knows he has to be on top of his game. He played great last night. The whole team did. :handclap:

He needs to keep that chip, man. He was so much more active and aggressive tonight. I loved it. This is the Hank we need to have to win the Cup this year.

You have big expectations.

This is the Henrik we need to be a bubble playoff team LOL. Stanley Cup aspirations? I don't know about that.

He looked good in his relief appearance and rock solid against the Capitals. He might be finding his stride.

Not a single goal or assist and he was virtually non-existent on the powerplay. I can't wait to get rid of this guy.

He didn't even try to go for the empty netter. This isn't NHL 14, Hank.

I don't think we're contenders, at all, but it's a long season. It's all about getting hot at the right time, and being healthy, more than anything else. October 2011, who would have thought the Kings would not only win the Cup, but do it in the most dominating fashion within recent history?

actually a lot of people thought they would win before the season started. everyone forgot that though because the underachieved during the regular season. i dont think anyone expected them to dominate though.

Looked pretty dam good to me on Wednesday night...

What I saw was a goalie who was left out to dry. How many back door goals? You cant blame that on him..

How many bad turnovers due to our defense and break outs? You cant blame the counter attacks that leave the opponent with a great quality shot on him.

He let in 2 softies, but who cares. The guy will be fine. And hes slowly getting use to his pads every day.

good thing is, his price seems to go down after every game. He'd have a ton of balls to ask for 8mil + after this ****show start to a season...and yeah a LOT of this is on him. Are we helping in front? No, but he's given up some awful goals.

Yeah, tonight was to a large extent on him. I mean, they looked like crap offensively and showed a shameful battle level, but they didn't give up much in their own zone. The Devils scored on almost every chance they had. He created his own problems with awful rebounds in front of the net on 2 goals. It's not like Chara was taking those point shots. And the Henrique goal was an absolute atrocity.

You need your goaltender to come up big when 3 top 6 forwards are out. Especially when one of them is your biggest threat and you have a goalie who's a top 3 cap hit in his position and is the star of the team. Instead they were down 2-0 without the Devils breaking a sweat creatively.

Goal #2 was the only goal that was really his fault tonight, he HAS to stop that slapshot from Henrique, that was so uncharacteristic of him. The rest had more to do with defensive breakdowns (leaving people open in front of the net) and being screened pretty hard.

We are playing Hartford's lineup, so when Hank is subpar we have no chance
