I know Atlanta Spirit Group didn't want the Thrashers, but you never know if they would have thought differently had the team been successful. The Oilers would likely have moved from Edmonton if they had been as unsuccessful as the Thrashers.

The year the ASG bought them, the one year they make the playoffs, they had better attendance than the Blues, Caps, Blackhawks, Bruins, Islanders, Preds, Ducks, and Panthers. They never wanted the team.
