Fix the damn D already. Maata was better than half of them. We finished tied with Washington last year and they are in first 30+ points above us. Someone light a fire under the GM's ass.

The team needs to subtract first. Get rid of Holl, Gustafson and Tarasenko for starters.
Make room for ASP and some other players like Lombardi and Mazur to win a spot.
Then sign a RELIABLE defensemen to a 1 year deal.

Top 4 LHD is the target. I am not sure, however, if free agency is the place to find him. This may be something we need to acquire by trade.

Top 4 D seems to be running away with the voting thus far. Along those lines, what do people think of Ryan Lindgren? He'll be a UFA this summer and signed a 1 year deal for $4.5m. He's played over 4,200 minutes from 2021-22 through 2023-24, on ice save percentage is 92.9%, and he has 45.5% d-zone starts. Seems like he could be a good value pick up. Averaged close to 20 mins per night since 2020-21, so could be a middle pairing option.

He's not massive, but his underlying numbers look pretty good over a fairly long stretch of play.

Rangers fans were seemingly all aboard and happy to have Lindgren on the get out of town train, so I am assuming there is some issues with his game.

petrys gone, Holl to be sent to GR, waived or bought out, Gustafsson sent to whoever for future considerations

Trade for Nic Hague and Mario Ferraro
Bring up ASP and MBN
Sign Marner, resign Kane and boom we are a playoff team

Debrincat - Larkin - Kane
Raymond - Kasper - Marner
Tarasenko - Compher - Nygard
Rasmussen - Copp - Berggren/Watson

Hague - Seider
Edvinsson - ASP
Ferraro - Chiarot

Nic Hague? Guy is the only minus regular lineup defenceman on Vegas in only 16-17ish minutes a night, how is he first pair here? What is with people and this guy? The rest of his stats are nothing to write home about either with 1 hit and 1 block a game, which is pretty meh along with quite a few giveaways in limited minutes. He really doesn't have a lot better stats than Holl has, with exception to hits.

Not too worried about what Rangers think, that franchise is a mess. If you are so inclined go check out the Avs thread on the trade. The comments were universally dismissive and PO'd when the signing was announced, but it's been a full 180 since he's suited up and played for the Avs.

He's played 5,500 minutes over the past 4 seasons, has a very strong save percentage when he was on the ice (92.3%), respectable amount of D-zone starts (45.6%), solid CF% Rel and FF% Rel over that extended time frame.

He has as a similar amount of hits and blocks as Edvinsson in roughly the same number of minutes this season (about 100 fewer mins for Lindgren).

Kasper also got injured in his first NHL game.
That's what happens when physicality is big part of your game
This makes about as much sense as Kane having a bad hip because of his physical game. Kasper slid into the boards. That really doesn't speak to physicality.

The fact that he played almost the entire game on a broken kneecap says something about his toughness.

How old is Kane? How many years of hard work workout behind.

Kane probably has one more productive year at a second line level. I’d keep him for it.
DBC-Kasper-Kane works. Because of this I want to see them add another top 6 winger to help Larkin and Raymond. Either via FA or trade.
He's not having one this year, why would you expect him to have one next year? PP1 and a 2nd line are not the same thing...

ive changed my outlook about seider with a new ufa partner because the right guy isnt there , i want a guy that will take lots of pressure off seider plus be a rugged force that has his back . only guy for that job is edvinsson . then sign provorov or garikov to play on 2 with aljo . then 3 becomes chariot / holl / wallinder

plus sign jeanot to keep the flies off

besides that i dont care beyond not wasting cap space that i want for future home grown players coming along as in edvinsson / kasper / plus a whole bunch behind them

beyond that i dont care cuz window aint open yet . though if i could finagle some type trade dumping holl plus a draft pik/prospect for a tough but cheapish cost dman like risto im happy to get holl gone and bring in more ruggedness . it'd cost an extra year of 5 mil cap space but with cap going up i dont think one year hurts , and chariot n risto pairing would be rugged .
