So you might be the best one to ask.

Pacific Coliseum and Northland looked like identical twins on TV.

Ive been to pacific Coliseum but not Northlands.

Were they as identical as they looked?

Here's my rather small list, hoping to add some more once the kids are a little older!
  • NYR - Madison Square Garden (pre- and post-renovations)
  • NJD - Continental Airlines Arena & Prudential Center
  • CAR - Lenovo Center
    • Also, a preseason game at Spectrum Center in Charlotte
  • TBL - Amelie Arena
  • VGK - T-Mobile Arena

Only one game at Scotiabank Arena. Paid $630 for a regular season ticket, 3rd row from the glass in the corner. Found myself watching the jumbotron most of the game, as I couldnt see the far end of the rink. Im a fairly big fellow, and the seats were so cramped together. Leafs didn't even score a goal. Drinks we're $20. Food was even more expensive.
Best view, in my opinion, is from the higher rows of the lower sections or midway up the level above, lined up with the faceoff dots. You see the whole ice and still feel in the game. As for $630 a ticket - maybe that’s a bucket list thing, but for me, it’s a hard no. The cap goes up, players want more, and fans end up footing the bill.

Honestly I'd like to be 10-12 rows up and more toward center ice, although, It was cool being able to see players faces up close. This was a once in a lifetime kinda thing for me.

Pretty much the same. Northlands was more open and had higher ceilings and wider walkways. Pacific Coliseum was a little more enclosed.

Pittsburgh (both new and old)
St Louis
Columbus

Columbus gets my vote for best since it's a new building with stuff to do around it. And Pittsburghers, don't f***ing tell me that TGI Friday's counts as "pre-game entertainment" like I have been told before (with a straight face, believe it or not). Absolutely nothing to do around the arena. Beautiful building though!
Columbus exceeded my expectations; lots of places to go before and after the game and the fans were great.

Accurate and fair. Detroit (and Chicago) fans invaded the hell out of the arena when their team came to town.

Good for me, though. I didn't want to deal with so many away fans, and one year when I had season tickets I managed to sell my ticket on StubHub when we played Chicago for $92. I only paid $23 per game, so it was a tidy little profit and I watched the game on TV instead.

Best to worst

-Montreal forum post 68 renovation - brighter than previous version, but still kept the history. Didn't hurt that they had the best team in the world. Ate a lot of Hotdogs there.
-Montreal forum pre 68 renovation - A bit dingy, but amazing
-Excel Center(MN) - I like it, but lacks history/Bell Center (tie)- shiny, new, exciting, loud - I kinda hate it.
-GM Place(Vancouver)
- post 1990 reno Aud (Buffalo)
- Maple Leaf Gardens circa 1980's - a sad, crammed place

- Played in Montreal Forum early 70's... big thrill, but ice was surprisingly poor.
- Played in the Colisee (Nordique). Old, dark, but the crowd was great.

I hate how almost all arenas charge WAY too much for concessions. Is it the Atalnta Falcons who's owner made them keep the prices reasonable for the fans?
