What NHL rinks have you been to a game at?

On an unrelated note, I'm up to 28/30 of the MLB parks. Unfortunately NHL arenas don't quite have the same charm. Off the top of my head:

Staples Center/Crypto: Been to countless Kings games over the years, but happened to go to the first Kings game when Staples opened in October 1999. Never did make it to the Forum, although comically when I was younger my dad forbade me from going since he claimed gang members would shoot me for cheering for the other team.

Honda Center: closest NHL to me, notably went to Games 4/6 of the 2003 SCF.

SAP Center: couple of Devils@Sharks games and a Ducks@Sharks game
Roger Arena: 2009 preseason + 2019 Draft
Prudential Center: try to get to a Devils home game every other year if possible
Madison Square Garden: Oddly I've seen more basketball games (3) than hockey games (1)
Barclays Center: Devils/Islanders preseason before the Isles used it as a home rink
Joe Louis Arena: Blackhawks/Red Wings preseason game
Capital One Arena: Preds/Caps preseason game, oddly I've seen two WWE events in that arena
T-Mobile Arena: couple Devils@Knights game, and then my buddy had an extra ticket for 2023 SCF G1
American Airlines Arena: still mad at JetBlue, had a flight cancelled and my friend was going to surprise me with glass seats for a Devils@Stars game. Went to Devils@Stars the following season but was still bitter.
TD Garden: I've seen two Devils@Bruins games, Devils shut out both games. Saw 2022 Frozen Four semifinals.
Mullett Arena / whoever sponsored their Glendale arena: I think I saw three Devils@Coyotes games over the years.
ClimatePledge: Caught Devils/Kraken in 2023

Xcel Energy Center: 2011 Draft, not sure that counts
Enterprise Arena (probably a different sponsor now): 2015 Draft
United Center: 2017 Draft plus a random Bulls game
The Sphere: 2024 Draft

Dodger Stadium: Ducks/Kings outdoor game
Yankee Stadium: took a red eye after the Dodger Stadium game and caught Devils/Rangers the next day

And then caught college games at Yost (Michigan) and Conte (BC). Saw a USHL game in Ann Arbor between Youngstown (Kyle Connor) and the USNTDP (Matthews/M.Tkachuk/McAvoy) among others. The day before that I crossed the border to watch Erie (McDavid/D.Strome/DeBrincat) play in Windsor. Caught an OHL game between now defunct Plymouth (Wilson/Noesen) and London (Domi/Horvat/Zadorov) in 2012. Saw Arizona State host the USNTDP (Keller/Oettinger/Fox) in a meager rink before they got the current barn. Caught WHL games in Seattle/Portland. Took a field trip last month to catch the U18 semifinals in Frisco. And I'll usually catch an AHL game or two with the San Diego Gulls every season.
That’s awesome. I’m at 26/30. Which ones do you still need?

I'm missing the two in Florida which I'm in the midst of planning to see next month. Unfortunately Tampa is going to be an asterisk with their current park. And then technically I never did see a game in St. Louis. I was only in town for a day, but I bought a ticket, sat in the stadium, and bought concessions. But they knew a storm was coming so they didn't bother to start the game. I haven't booked it yet, but I'm likely to pit stop in St. Louis after Tampa/Miami to officially scratch it off the list. Fittingly it would be the Padres@Cards which was the intended game in 2016.

It was a 'you had to be there' moment but it was the same day that the Rangers traded Derick Brassard. And then this guy was there wearing a Brassard Rangers shirt. I can only assume the trade hit him pretty hard.

My souvenir from each park is the ice cream helmet. So I at least did get that from the original St. Louis visit. I'm very bitter at Cleveland. I did several laps of the ballpark last year and they apparently were entirely out of helmets. I could order one online but it's not quite the same.

My friend had a ballpark rule that I'm not adhering to. By his rule, if a team gets a new stadium, he has to go back. Or in the case of the A's, he wants to go to Sacramento for a game but I'm probably not going to go out of my way.

------

Going back to hockey, I'd definitely recommend catching an NCAA game. Depending on the rink it can be a fun vibe that's tough to recreate in a pro setting.

Meadowlands Arena: mostly for Devils games

Prudential Center: mostly for Devils games

Madison Square Garden: a Devils vs. Rangers game (in 1989) & the circus (in the 1980's)

I never been to the Great Western Forum, but I stayed at a hotel across the street from there in the summer of 1986.

My great grandfather went to see the Bruins play at Boston Arena in 1927. He was 28.

I've seen NHL games at all of the current original six buildings, Pittsburgh, LA, Anaheim, Ottawa, Edmonton (old and new), Calgary, Winnipeg, Vancouver, Minnesota, Carolina, and Seattle.

Edmonton - Northlands Coliseum/Rexall Place
Calgary - Saddledome
Los Angeles - Staples Center/whatever
Anaheim - Honda Center

Been a solid dozen years since I've added a new one to the list. Meh. They're all the f***ing same now. I miss random fires and Zamboni malfunctions.

Pittsburgh (both new and old)
St Louis
Columbus

Columbus gets my vote for best since it's a new building with stuff to do around it. And Pittsburghers, don't f***ing tell me that TGI Friday's counts as "pre-game entertainment" like I have been told before (with a straight face, believe it or not). Absolutely nothing to do around the arena. Beautiful building though!

I was talking with a friend recently about this. Unfortunately it's true. They all seem to be a carbon copy of each other, and now that the old ones are gone I don't have as much interest in seeing as many as I used to.

To be fair, there's only so much they can do with an indoor only arena, and the things that teams do to set themselves apart are generally show style stuff like Vegas or the Blue Jacket's cannon.

The other option is like what they did with UBS with the exterior design to look different, but that's not seemingly as common. The design and structure are really the best ways to set themselves apart, but I'm sure its not worth the money for the owners.

I'd love to go back in time and experience chicago stadium, Montreal forum and Boston Garden.

I was only a kid when those buildings were essentially decommissioned.

Only one game at Scotiabank Arena. Paid $630 for a regular season ticket, 3rd row from the glass in the corner. Found myself watching the jumbotron most of the game, as I couldnt see the far end of the rink. Im a fairly big fellow, and the seats were so cramped together. Leafs didn't even score a goal. Drinks we're $20. Food was even more expensive.
