I love the ones with the sax.

That said the earliest one brings back lots of memories. Started following the team in '79 and was watching religiously since '84, minus a few years in the late 90's after I moved south before Center Ice.

I love (almost) all of them. I love the sax intro - such a classic. But I also started watching in 97, so that kitschy intro from the late 90s is quite near and dear to me. All of the ones since the lockout have been decent, but I think our current one is the best of the lot.

That being said - not exactly related, but on the topic of Rangers intros - NOTHING will ever get me more pumped up for a game than this music. Bring it back for Rangers Game Night, PLEASE.

Wow I haven't heard this one in forever.

NYI fan here, who grew up in the NYC Metro-area basically between our Dynasty, and your historic ‘94 Cup. Have to say 90-93 sticks out to me most. Amazing watching it back now how I basically remembered the sequence of highlights perfectly. Sort of a precursor for the sax-heavy one you guys love (for obvious reasons). Love NYC sports history- so thanks for walk down memory lane. Pretty cool.
Username checks out. :)

It's funny that the best NYR opening happened to be during one of the worst periods of NYR hockey from 01 to 04.

Was it Hlavac who destroyed the camera?

Definitely not sure. There could be some missing there.

Did msg always carry the islanders? I was surprised to see Yankees footage in that intro as well.
Sportschannel used to carry the Islanders in the 1980's while the Rangers were MSG/WOR

The sax opening was written by Edd Kalehoff who's written a ton of memorable music for sports and news and game shows, especially the Price is Right and Double Dare. There were actually multiple versions of this: one for TV viewers at home, and our former goal song, and a third brassier version for fans present in the actual building.

MSG NY Rangers

You have to be pretty old to remember this, lmao.

I think these latest titles for the last few years have been incredibly bland. I think I link the end of the 2014 - 2015 titles to those couple of amazing runs and obviously the grinding skates and sax to the Cup.
