You're all hilarious. There are plenty of reasons for doom and gloom with this franchise. The title next to Rick Nash's name on the website is not one of them.

Real games can't come soon enough so we can have a real conversation again.

No excitement. Every time I click to HFCBJ it hurts all over again.

Just waiting for games to start to start moving forward with CBJ.

(Excited that my new town, Columbus will always be the hometown, has a team that put on a good show for their first ever home preseason game last night)

The west coast part is my requirement. I like having my secondary team be on Mountain or Pacific time so that their games are usually just starting after the Jackets finish. I don't usually make it through the third period, but it's nice having a late game. Maybe I'll be a Colorado bandwagoner this year; I am a huge MacKinnon fan.
Come to the dark side and join the UHC fan base

Put me down as excited for the new season. Three reasons.

The starting point is simple - I love Blue Jackets. So I can’t wait for the season to begin.

Second, I’m looking forward to see the development of our still young forwards. How big a leap forward might guys like Marchenko Chinakpv, Voronkov, Johnson and Fantilli make? Will Jiricek and Mateychuk become defensive stalwarts? And who in Cleveland might show they are NHLers. Looking at you Brindley, DBB and others.

Third - Evason as coach. After watching his two predecessors flounder. From the beginning to end of last season with Vincent at the helm I went through three phases of emotion starting with Optimism, turning to Skepticism and ending with total Pessimism. So I’m excited to see an experienced hand give this team a chance to professionally evolve.

Cliche I know, but I’ll not be so concerned with wins - though I want to see wins - but rather progress in players growing in a sound hockey structure.

I'm looking forward to seeing Evason on the bench when the real games get heated. I love it when a coach radiates emotion like that.

Finally, our center problem is solved. Two CBJ centers are tied for the league lead in goals. Screw Crosby/Malkin. We have Fantilli/Olivier.

Excited. I lurk a lot and post barely at all, but was able to move my family back home (Ohio) after our time in the Air Force. Going to be fun when the youth flourishes and complements our vets and watch it in person now.
Thank you for your service. And I agree, will be a fun ride if they can put it together and grow.

A week ago, I was more optimistic and excited for the team/season than I have been in 4-5 years.

Then Jenner/Voronkov got injured, and now Mateychuk to the AHL….I’ll go ahead and say it…

Unsustainability Sustained

Ain’t gonna lie, if I was a STH, this would be a year I’d likely skip buying my tickets and just enjoy occasional single game tickets

Each time that bit of hope creeps in, lady luck says absolutely not, and we lose 2 to potentially long term injuries.
Excited to see if the kids make strides and the fact cbj hockey is back. But theres not much else.

Now that the season is upon us. I have to admit that as someone who also follows the NJD that the biggest thing I'm excited for this year is the possibility that the Devils wear Christmas tree jerseys when they play here on St. Patrick's Day.

The last few seasons the excitement for me is to see the young guys’ development. Let’s hope we see some genuine progress this year. We were never going to be near the playoffs this season. Injuries to older guys are not nearly as bad as watching KJ and Fantilli have scary injuries.

Times like this are when we really need @Skraut back to his hype video days. I keep this one bookmarked. If I can get up for a season with Mark Dekanich and Radek Martinek... LOL but for real, these were (and still are) great vids. His work on that front - and as a poster - are missed.

We definitely need to get the hype going for some things that don't involve wins.

On the plus side there should be a great many cans of whoop ass opened up this year, with Evason coaching Olivier, Gudbranson, etc.. and hopefully Voronkov back soon.

Ending hiatus to make a point

I have privately talked to Skraut way back in the day when he was an active poster and let him know how much I loved his videos. These hype videos are one of the biggest reasons I became a hockey fan and seeing he was on this website was a major reason why I joined in the first place. I just wanted to publicly acknowledge (like you did) how important Skraut’s videos were to me and the impact they had on a very young and learning hockey fan back in the day. Seeing these videos posted every now and then always gives me a nostalgia rush of a 10-11 year old watching the new skraut release with a childhood buddy who was also getting into hockey. It always makes me happy.

So yeah, if you ever see this, thank you again skraut.

That's what I did. Granted I was a STH in the area they upgraded and essentially doubled my ticket price. Couldn't afford the full season. Wife had no interest in going to games anymore and the group I had helping me with the full season also decided the cost did not match the on ice or in house experience. I'll still watch every game and go, but it sucks as a Day 1 season ticket holder to have to bail (not to mention I dealt with some significant health care costs this year that impacted the discretionary funds)

Amazing how good those were. He/she is certainly missed and talented. I wish I could do stuff like that. Hell... I wish CBJ game ops could do stuff like that. What a great year opening video that would be...

The only real positive I feel is that the season is potentially all upside.

The expectation is they will be one of, if not the worst, teams in the league. And that is entirely fair.

Anything exceeding that is going to feel like a win.

Sorry but with everything that has happened in the past few months. The only positive is when this season is over. Wish we had an EA NHL 25 feature and sim the season.

The STH cost doesn’t match what is on the ice with all this bargain bin replacements. We will be lucky to equal last years point total.
