Carolinas Identity*
I'm a bad troll...
Cartoons are, by in large, meant to be funny and silly and let you escape the real world for 30 mins. But sometimes they can be downright sad.
I recently binge watched a bunch of Futurama episodes, one of which happened to be "Jurassic Bark"
If you are unfamiliar with the episode, Fry finds the fossilized remains of his old adopted dog, and the professor says he has the technology to restore him to life, so the whole episode is flash backs of when they were together, and how excited he is to get his dog back.
Very touching moment and everyone, including the audience, is glad that he is going to get his best friend back. Then at the last second, while the machine is just about to start, Fry breaks it, saying that Seymour (his dog), lived for 15 years after he was gone and wouldn't remember him, and didn't want to tarnish his memory by bringing him back when the dog wouldn't know who he was.
Then......
This happens:
I have never felt so emotionally sucker-punched in my life as I did the first time I saw that. To this day, that still makes me tear up, and I bet actors who need to cry for a scene, probably watch that just before going out on set.
