Speculation: What is the most the Canucks could fetch from NYR if they traded JT Miller back to NYR

Canucks fans are comical. he's a locker room cancer. Ny gave him away, Tampa didn't want to keep him and now more issues. You can keep him.
This post is comical. If Miller is a cancer, what do you call the "superstars" who make $2-4m more and disappear in the playoffs?

I feel like the OP and a few Canucks fans are trying to distort reality.

I’m not saying that Zibanejad is equal to Miller, but please don’t try to pull the “Miller is the best thing ever, we want all your best assets for him” type of routine.

You are eager to see what his market may be, like we are for Zibanejad. The Rangers are absolutely not taking on his salary to throw you all our futures.

If for some reason a deal was to come together for him, it probably involves one of our veterans we’re trying to move like Zibanejad or Kreider or Trouba or maybe even Panarin. There even might be an add on our part, but please don’t ask for our best futures. It’s a non starter.

Miller turns 32 before the season ends.

When is the last time a 32 year old player, no matter how good, returned a package of premium young assets?

Here's the thing...

There isn't a single Canucks fan who wants to trade Miller.

He's the emotional leader for our team, and quite honestly our best forward. The Miller in New York isn't the same Miller in Vancouver. The Miller is New York was an underachieving bozo... The Miller in Vancouver is one of our leaders, a center capable of putting up 90-100 points, throws hits, wins faceoffs, matches up against the best lines... he's been a FRANCHISE player for us.

To get him we would be expecting a kings ransom... anything less than Cuylle, Schneider, K'andre, Chytil, and a 1st... we are NOT interested.

Canucks and Rangers are a bad match for a trade.

No one is eager to see his market aside from Ranger fans. JT isn’t being traded no matter what’s on your Christmas wishlist.

1. With an ask like that, every team in the league is a bad match. Thats Rookie Lindros value.

2. Is it, or is it not true that he had problems with Horvat and Petersson?

Is Van gonna trade away Horvat and now Pete too just to accommodate Millers brash personality? Or, just cut bait with Miller and chalk Horvat up as an irreversible mistake? i wonder who else in the room he clashes with. ( not a knock, i want that leadership in the nyr locker room honestly.)

Moving Horvat was not an “irreversible mistake” no matter how you look at it.

1) Are these rumors stemmed from anything other than rumors? Miller's calls out everyone on the team. Pettersson + Miller made up one of the best lines in Canucks history (649 line) comprising of Elias-Miller-Boeser

2) Do you think a franchise would trade their captain who was on a 50 goal pace for a cancer like Miller? Miller has been a class act since coming to Vancouver. Also considering moving Horvat has lead to acquiring Hronek, which has been a massive W for Vancouver.

3) Rutherford shut down rumors they're trading Miller, and they're standing by him. A 90-100 point franchise player will demand a kings ransom(who is our best forward, makes everyone around him better, plays in all situations, hits, playa defense, is a leader, etc). The offer above is the starting point. Rangers need to attach atleast 2 unprotected picks to start a conversation.

4) MILLER IS UNTOUCHABLE. THE CANUCKS WILL NOT AND WONT TRADE HIM, HE IS OUR BEST FORWARD. OUR POHO HAS GONE TO THE MEDIA AND STATED HE IS UNTOUCHABLE AND THEY WILL NOT BE TRADING HIM.

5) Anything else?

How's he a locker room cancer? The guy loves the city and team. He's carried a large portion of the burden of dragging the team into the playoffs vs. the petulant 11 million dollar Swede. IMO, Hughes, Garland, Miller, Joshua, Boeser were instrumental in getting them past the Preds, and almost past the Oilers. If the petulant Swede was playing to his potential, we would have buried the Oilers in round 2, same with Mr. 5 on 5 Hooglander. It's cool to see mainly Americans leading a Canadian team in a highly rabid market. If they get rid of anyone, get rid of the Swede.

In my head right now JT Miller is on a top secret mission to take down the train executives and regulators who let the East Palestine disaster happen to his hometown, and that increases his value to at least a Ryder/Halak/2nd.

Yeah, it's just not happening. He's signed until 37. Miller is still great now, but the last two years, at least, of his contract are going to be painful.

I don’t think the Rangers should trade for Miller, and I think the Canucks aren’t going to trade him - however, you are inviting more discussion of his trade value with that proposal which is doesn’t have a lot of equals in trade history. Four young roster players and a first is just kind of asinine and purposefully inflammatory.
