What is more important event for you World Cup ore the world championship ?

Only the relevant ones.
That means, the Olympics.

The World Cup could get there, someday, maybe, with a different leadership.
 
Between the world cup and world championship I will have to go with the World Championship. World championships are interesting since every country has a chance to make it to the top division, whereas the world cup is an invitational. Also it gives an opportunity for other smaller hockey nations to evaluate their progress when compared to the established hockey nations. It also gives smaller hockey nations an opportunity to play at a big stage to display the sport to their people.
 
Practically every fan from Europe is going to say WHC, it has a long and valued history there.

If the World/Canada Cup was still like it always was it would be that over the WHC by miles. This particular version won't be though, i'll value the WHC more.

It's too bad what they have done to it,For me, no matter where it is held, a best on best beats a watered down WHC that is not even a real world championship any day of the week. I don't even think it should be called a world championship, just give it some title such as "Skoda corporation International cup" Because that is really what it is.

It's a shame what they have done to the World cup.
 
World Cup as it used to be > World Championships >>>>> World Cup as it is now.
 
Like asking what's more prestigious in the World of Hockey.

Stanley Cup or Gagarin Cup.

Obviously the World Championships. The whole Hockey World watches, (yes nhl playoffs is only watched by a small population yet they think they are the world)

The other is a money maker for greedy businessmen.
 
World Championships. I believe that the World cup is nothing more than a farce. The NHL has no authority to institute an international best on best competition. I would however be ok if the NHL, NHLPA,IIHF and IOC came to an agreement whereby the world cup would be played in summer Olympic years and the NHL would send players to the winter Olympics then I could support the world cup.
 
Neither is important at all. I will watch some of the world championships though. It was easily the World Cup before, but the NHL has messed the tournament up horribly for 2016.
 
WHC. this new WC is just a damn big joke. showmatch tournament. absolutely no value at all whoever wins it. old Canada Cup was the best tho'. :/
 
I am not a big fan of national sports, so neither of them are that important to me. That said, although I recognize that the World Championship is more important, I will likely be more interested in the World Cup just due to its timing.
